No Luck on the Irish Day

St. Patrick's Day+ mom  who isn't paying enough attention to her kids +  a bored four year old + scissors= the following pictures. I guess the hair cut she got last month (shown in an earlier post) wasn't what she wanted, so she took matters in to her own hands!  So I am not very good at the whole holiday thing, like decorating all cute or even decorating  for holidays and then having colored or traditional meals that fit the hoilday. I was trying to make up for this by having a traditional Irish dinner. So I was fixing corned beef, cabbage and potatoes and looking at stuff on the computer, when I came out to check on the food which I burned and noticed Lilly acting a little silly. She stood up on the couch and said,"Mom, do you like my hair?" And I was still distracted and just said "yea" not really looking at it or anything.  But then Lilly said,"I wonder how you are going to glue it back on?" That was when all my spider scences went nuts an...

Lilly's note

I haven't posted anything about Lilly and I was thinking I should come up with something for her (not that it would be hard)  but she did the work for me. A couple of days ago Lucy was playing with Glen's ipod on our bed and Lilly really wanted a turn so she kept bugging Lucy asking if she could have a turn or to let her see the ipod . Glen got sick of her asking so he told her she couldn't talk to Lucy anymore about the ipod because it was Lucy's turn and when she was done Lilly could have a turn.   So what did she do . . .  She went out to the kitchen got a post-it note and wrote Lucy a note all by herself. Then she came back into  our room and gave Lucy the note.   Glen saw the note and asked her who helped her with it. She told him no one.  So he asked her how she knew how to spell the words and she told him she just sounded them out.  We didn't think she did too bad for a four year old.  And what adds to this is that Lilly got the ipod within a couple minute...

Paige tagged me for this blogging game where you open your picture file go to the sixth folder, open it and then go to your sixth picture in that folder and post it, plus tell the story behind it.  After you do it you are suppose to tag six more people. It sounded fun so I thought I would try it. The only thing is I don't know six different people that are blogging. oh well. Any one who reads this and wants to continue the chain feel free. Let me know too so I can read about your picture! This isn't the funnest picture to write about but it is life in a nutshell at my house right now. we are  under construction or in some cases destruction ! This is the basement family room partially gutted with all the stuff that goes along with it. The short side of this story is we had a flood that ruined two thirds of this room just after we had moved in the house. Which was a blessing in disguise. We decided to gut that room and start over because it needed a few up dates - carpet moulding...

OLD

Today I got a call from the window company and our new windows are coming tomorrow! I am feeling pretty old right now because I can not tell you how happy and excited I am to have new windows! I never would have guessed that I could feel this way about windows. I really must be old.
