Head to the Hills

With all of the grand kids home Glen's parents wanted to go camping. So Monday we headed to the hills. Lilly is the only one in school right now so we worked around that. We left after school on Monday and spent the night but then I brought her down for school Tuesday morning. She wasn't happy about that but such is life! After school we went back up and had a wonderful day! It is controlled kaous with the six kids but lots of fun. Here are a few high lights. Sorry it might be picture overload. Our camp site. Nothing says happy camper better than a dirty face right? Topher really enjoyed the fresh salsa. The chip was basically a spoon to shovel it in to his mouth. Grandma was driven to the bottle. She didn't seem to mind it though. Why did this hose get put around some of the trees? To make this little guy, as he put it, "stuck!!!" Grandma really knows how to use her resources, and save her sanity at the same time. She enjoyed the bottle a little more knowing t...

It's FINALLY done!

Our office project that we started about ten months ago is FINALLY finished. It has been livable and useable for some time but we didn't have the doors up. We needed to paint them and we have just been putting it off. With Glen's summer break coming rapidally to an end he has been punching out the things on his To Do list with a vengence! So my sweet husband set to work painting the doors! He left a little love note too! Hard at work The doors are hung and the plastic is coming off! There was a lot of plastic to come off. The finished product! This was a great project because as you can tell we use the office a lot! One funny thing is that with the doors on Lilly likes to come in the office close the doors and dance around while singing. She sends us away saying, "I need my private time!"

Girl Get Away

Glen's sister's family has been out of state for the past few months in Chicago. They just recently returned, except for the dad, to get ready for school and work. This made my girls very excited. They had really missed their cousins. Mikayla is the only girl child in the family and after a few months of being around boys, she needed some girl time. So one day we had her over to play for most of the day! All three girls had a fantastic time reading, playing with dolls or other toys, swinging and just being together with out the boys to get in the way!

fruit from my labor

or veggie. This is my first bell pepper from the garden! It is a purple beauty. I don't know what this says about the kind of gardener I am but when I bought the plant I thought it was an eggplant. I didn't realize it was a pepper until talking with my mom one day. She said it was a pepper and I told her, "No, I think that is an eggplant." then I looked at the identification tag in the ground by it and sure enough it was a pepper! What can I say, I am not always the sharpest tack in the pile.

Legal Child Abuse

Okay not really but it could be really close! Lilly did this back on June 19. My sister works for Herriman city and got her entered in the mutton bustin of a rodeo in Herriman. Glen and I ended up having a wedding dinner for a friend that night too, so Grandma and Grandpa Richins got Lilly to the rodeo and then we came to watch her and then hurried back to the dinner and then back to watch the rest of the rodeo. With all of that we forgot our camera. A lady my sister works with took pictures of all of the kids riding so I have been waiting for her to get me the images! She did a great job! Lilly didn't stay on the sheep very long but she had fun, didn't cry and even said she would do it again. She got a cool medial for participation. She wants to do it again because she didn't win and she had her eye on the winners trophy which was about two feet tall! She's just a little competative! Also we went to the Salt Lake County Fair just last week to see our neighbors show t...

Where could it be?

For the past couple of weeks I have been casually looking for my finger nail polish remover. I let the girls paint my toes about a month ago and what polish is left on my toes needs to come off. I have looked high and low and in all of the hiding places I thought I may have put it. The girls got in troble with it sometime ago and I hid all things pertaining to that sort of thing. I thought I had moved it out since the trouble was over but I have not been able to find it anywhere. I just remember I need it when I see my toes which isn't all that often but it has been nagging at me. I was begining to think I was going nuts. Finally I was looking a little bit and wondering "where could it be?" I was in enough of a dither about it that I randomly ask Glen, "Do you know where the finger nail polish remover is?" Really I was half joking because I was thinking why would he know where it is because he doesn't paint his nails, BUT then it came to me!!!!!! HE WAS T...

Are you ready for this?

Ready or not it happened. KINDERGARTEN! I don't know how much a person ages in a day but I think it is extra on days like today. We now have a child in elementary school. Wow, how did that happen. We were at our friends baby blessing on Sunday and I swear we just did that with Lilly. How time flies. Besides the aging everyone made it through the day quite well! We didn't even need tissues! Don't worry Lucy you will be on the other side of the fence in no time at all.

Estrogen Extravaganza

As of late we have been having lots of girl time! A few weeks ago Glen went off to Scout camp. He was with about 16 other boys or men. I think it was good timing on his part to stock up on his manlyness because when he got home we had a few extra girls. Months ago I told our neighbors up the street we would watch their three girls while they went to Costa Rica for their anniversary. It just so happened that while Glen was gone we got another 5 and 2 year old plus a ten month old to watch for a few days. Poor Glen went from one extreme to another. I don't have pictures because we were busy keeping clothes on bodies intervening fights from starting, or getting babies to sleep. It was a grand adventure. I don't know what this says but we were able to make it to church no later than we usually get there. So that was a plus! At church someone asked if we could get any more estrogen at our house? The girls all got along very well until the last day. It was that day and those last few...
