Beth at two months

Our dear Bethany, who we mostly call Beth is two months old already. The time has just flown by. She timed things perfectly with her arrival back in October. It was the last day of school before fall break which was a four day weekend. Things just worked out so well, though she did cost me a date with Glen. I have forgiven her because she is so cute and good and knew better than me.  So at 2 months she is 11lbs 11oz and 22 1/2 inches long. She is a great sleeper. The last few nights she has slept 8 hours and before that it was 5-6. The down fall is it is between 11 and midnight when she goes down and it is in her swing. I am working on it though and feel really blessed for her to be this good. And she is just as good awake; happy, smiley, talkative, has good head control, likes tummy and bath time and puts up with all the head patting, kissing, awkward holding, and everything else her older siblings do to her. She loves everyone but especially mom! She takes a bottle okay bu...

Keeping it real

Looking back at this week on the calendar doesn't seem to do it justice. There was just normal stuff for the most part; after school STEM for Glen on Tuesday and Thursday, dance for the big girls on Tuesday and Wednesday, people preschool in the mornings on Tuesday and Thursday for Daryl, swimming merit badge stuff with the scouts on Wednesday for Glen (which has been happening for a few weeks so feels normal). Also the ward party was on Friday, the big girls got ask last minute to go to the Jazz game that night with cousins and that turned in to a sleep over. The ward party was really nice. It was a Polar Express themed night with the real meaning of Christmas mixed in nicely.  There is also work... It is good. I love my job, helping out Evelyn and Roberta. It is one of the greatest blessings of my life. That ...

Following good examples

Lately I have really loved Heather posting weekly for Mariah and everyone else's  benefit. So I am going to see if I can do something similar.  I have also found I just don't remember the cute, funny things my kids say like I think I will, and I want to document them.  Also I have gained great insight and even had answers to prayers come from the good things that people are doing and writing about. Maybe I can help someone out for good too?  An example of this is Kirsta's remember post about patriarchal blessings. When I finally did that it was such a good thing for me.  Those Nielsen girls are such good examples!  So here are the highs and maybe lows of our week. It was Festival of Trees week last week and this was my family's gingerbread creation for Dylan this year. It was called "I'll be gnome for Chriatmas." We worked on this the Saturday and Sunday after Thanksgiving. Monday morning I let the kids miss school to get assessed by grandpa and the other ...
