Easter

A day or two before palm Sunday I found t his post by the small seed  with things you could do every day of the Holy week to learn more about the Savior. I had great plans of doing that as a family. Those plans and any others I had for Spring break got smashed to smithereens.  It's just how the week worked. Luckily there is always next year.  Anyway this caused me to revert back to my stand by with the Easter Bunny making sure their is some focus put on Jesus before the Easter baskets can be found or uncovered. It all worked out and made it so Easter Sunday was nice.  Church was really good. The program was music by the choir, a solo of the song Gethsemane , a violin/ piano duet, the Living Christ being read, a short talk by an elderly man in the ward and remarks by the Bishop trying to fill time.  I made everyone take a family picture after church.  The camera fell on this first one and Glen was putting it up when it took the shot. None of them ar...

Spring Break

Ruth and Ellie  Sheep cupcakes Lilly and I think Lucy made for Karen Gibson for her birthday  They made the frosting, mixed up the cupcakes and made marshmallow fondant for the sheep and used pre- made eyes.  The kids took turns on Monday night(the big girls) and Tuesday night (Daryl and Ruth) having sleepovers with Grandma and Grandpa Richins. The morning activity was visiting DI for new treasures. This horse was one Lilly found.  Lilly has gotten a bit too big for the tractor but she had fun with her horse and it. they even made a little video of it "driving by itself."  Daryl is really cute with Ellie and so is Roberta. They both loving on babies.  We found out that my dad broke his leg from falling on a call he was on at work. It is right by his knee replacement and moved the replacement out from where it should be. He has to have a completely new one put in. That is going to happen May 2. It is going to be a long summer...

First part of April happenings

Here are pictures of things we have been up too, in no particular order, the last little bit.  Lucy wanted to make a dog quilt. She picked out a pattern and I got it for her. For her birthday last October my mom got her the fabric and helped her get started. She has been cutting and sewing and ironing as much as she can the last three months to get to this point. There are three boarders to add to it and then it will be done.  This is a picture from Glen, from one of the many spring sports games he gets to watch. When he got this job I thought we would join him much more than we have.  It seems we have our own things we are doing and a full high school sports schedule it not really where we are in life right now.  Ruth turned four in March. She just had her wellness checkup. I mentioned that getting her to eat a variety of things was rather hard. I told the doctor what she would eat and she recommended a multi vitamin because she has a very white diet. I ha...

Conference weekend

Conference was wonderful. At least what I heard of it. I made an irreversible scheduling error on Saturday which caused Glen and I to go on a date to a play. It was good but not what we would have done that Saturday if we could have changed dates. Oh well, live and learn. These were my notes from it- General conference-  Gain a testimony and strengthen it.  Make and Keep covenants Teach children  Success leads to integrity  Hold your little ones close and give them something good to follow and copy.  Our job is to bring other to come into Christ. Don't look around look up to Christ Learn the language of the Spirit Act on the first prompting, don't second guess the divine revelation Be a spiritual first responder  Heavenly Father knows the needs of his children and who will be willing to help.  Pay attention to your spiritual promptings Know they come from God Trust in the Lord Do simple acts of devotion to be ...
