He hears your prayer

Things I am grateful for this week-  I forgot to add this last night. I was scrolling through YouTube on Sunday at what the algorithm thought I might want to see and saw this video. Lilly knows the elder with brown hair on the right. He went to her school and did theater stuff. It was a really cool find.  Living close to family and having parents and in-laws willing to help watch and take my kids places when I have other commitments. Good teachers who work hard and mostly excel at their craft and like my children and help them learn things that I wouldn’t be able to teach them in the same way.  A school boundary change that I didn’t like but has given my kid new opportunities and teachers that she never would have had at the other school. The only downfall she doesn’t get to pop in to see Aunt Janae whenever she wants.  Good people in our lives and some of them reappearing in it. I got to meet with Lucy’s seminary teacher for PTC, who was my ninth grade semina...

Farther and farther we go

This has been an interesting week. Here are some pictures and bits of information about how it went. Here is a TikTok video Lucy was in for school . If you click on the @hvms_hawk_talk you can also see the SBO’s interviewing faculty and staff about 9/11. Their videos have done really well in the algorithm for that.  Walking to church together but late. How Lilly was asked to home coming and then how she answered Dallin. She gave him an unicorn stuffed animal.  She won lots of favorite daughter points with Glen for doing the glitter part outside. :) The “Sunrise salute” Lucy was apart of at her school in honor of the 20th anniversary of 9/11. Glen and Daryl fixed my stand mixer that has been broken for months but I haven’t wanted to throw out or pay to get a new one. I guess my patience paid off.  One of the tables at OJ’s funeral. I liked the saying in the frame that went along with the poem on the back of his program- It was a really fitting and beautiful service f...

Baby, I got somewhere to be

To start off here is a fun video to the song I got these lyrics from.  This week felt slower than the past few weeks. It was probably due to practice being canceled for most of the days for Lucy because of sick team mates. Luckily there were no games scheduled this week.  Glen wasn’t feeling great this week but it wasn’t terrible so he still went to work. :/ I think the back to school crud is going around again and with no masking in schools everyone is getting it this year, and maybe our immune systems aren’t as strong as they were before we started wearing masks?   Nevertheless, I hope it is behind us.  A few hard things from the week were- Janene’s memory was not good this week. It made things interesting.  We found out the type and stage of brain cancer Sandra has and it’s not good.  My dad’s friend since childhood died from pneumonia after getting over Covid.  I need to do a better job of writing down the good things from the week. There were...

Here we go, here we go, here we go

We left the ease of summer quickly and have moved  on to a new school schedule that moves along at a good clip. It seems a little crazy keeping the many moving parts and people going. It’s a good life though.  There were lots of good things from this week. But also not so good.  The not so good things- Lucy’s volleyball coach changing abruptly, finding out our family friend, Sandra has brain cancer. Dang cancer.  On to the good. I am walking to work with Glen in the mornings again. It’s a good way for us to have some time together.  Lilly has been wanting to try out a kickboxing gym for awhile. The two of us tried it out this week. She loves it. I like it more than I thought I would. Who knew that punching and kicking bags could be so therapeutic? We are helping Larry and Janene with their flooring project. We have taken out most of the flooring on the main floor and have hardwood acclimating so Wayne, Marian’s husband can install it. It’s slow going but coming ...
