A storm cloud rages-2/30-3/6

This week was a bit of a blur. These are some of the things J remember about it.   My parents went out of town to a conference for my dad’s work.  The play Lilly was in had closing night on Monday.  Marian and I were with Evelyn a lot. Lilly got ask to prom twice.  We had lots of help from extended family with Evelyn so Marian and I could have breaks.  Larry and Janene helped me a lot with getting the kids where they needed to be while I was with Evelyn.  Ruth talked me in to letting her have a birthday party. Thursday night while I was with her, Evelyn started complaining of major pain in her left armpit area and down her left arm. It was bad enough she was asking for pain medicine which she never does.  We are pretty sure it was a heart attack.  Friday and Saturday were rough days and we thought they were going to be some of her last. Lots of family gathered, my brothers got off work to come be with her, we started saying our goodbyes. Evel...

President’s day week

President’s day week didn’t start out as I planned. I was not going to go to Evelyn’s that day. I was going to work on stuff at home but Sunday my mom sent a picture of this note.  Evelyn hadn’t had a bath in awhile and the last one had not gone well for her or my mom. She needed her hair colored as well. So Monday morning, I hurried to the grocery store, for Nice and Easy medium to golden brown hair color and to her house for to give her a bath. It turned out really well. She is happy to not have long white roots and has stopped asking us to take down the Morris in the house so she can’t see that scary white haired lady in her house. :) Meanwhile Lucy was in AZ finishing up a volleyball tournament and heading home with her team.  Ruth and Beth wrote a play and performed it for us. They even included Camron when he came to pick Lilly up for a date. It was really fun and nice of him.  Lucy’s team ended up taking longer to get home because of a winter storm that dumped on m...

The clouds are filled with gray

Our weather went from freezing to spring like. No one knows what season we are in or what’s going on. Some photographic evidence of good from the week. Sloths in the front tree.  Crocus showing up A creation Ruth made  Evelyn brushed her teeth, well the ones she has left. Not a common thing.  Beth took care of signing the book reading note for me. ;) Lucy played in a sand volleyball tournament with my sisters and their friend and they won. It was a stay in bed kind of day but she was happy. Beth and Goob. They have a love hate relationship.  The not good part of the week was finding out my cousin Emily’s husband who just turned 44, has ALS and hopefully 3 years to live. That’s rough news to swallow.
