Pressure like a drip, drip, drip

This week was a rough week for me. I’ll own that up front.   There is a lot going on and some of the things just keep persisting and are out of my control. Even though I would really like to control them and have them be a check box on a list and I check that box and move on to the next task. That is not how things are working out. It’s a bit frustrating and feels a lot like eating humble pie which is sometimes delicious but not always and generally hard to swallow.  Here are the silver linings from the week that seemed pretty gray and cloudy.  This short and this devotional . They helped me remember that sometimes hard is part of the plan. Other people have their own hard too. It will all work out. Look for the light.  Running in to a neighbor who was walking in the early morning with both of us in different routes than we usually go on, and having a quick chat with her. It was a good boost and great distraction to the thoughts in my head.  Sunrises on t...

Lions and tiger and bears, Oh my

Here is a smattering of pictures from Glen’s birthday week. I didn’t write down enough before this past week which was not great for me, thus the details and highlights are sketchy. The big things that so do recall were getting g the little girls moved back in to their room! Wahoo!  Lucy’s team beating Herriman, and Glen Cherri h for Lucy but not knowing which team to cheer for after that so just being quiet.  Daryl getting his presents and cake. He is turning in to a bit of a car guy.  Some pretty sunsets and sunrises.  Celebrating Glen with by going to breakfast and the zoo and then an outdoor movie in the backyard.  A new stake presidency. Beth being independent and observant. Not so good things-  Beth walking to church by herself to the wrong building because of communication mishaps.  Food issues with Ruth. It’s a work in progress, that seems rather slow.

September, When It Comes

The high lights from this last week were- Celebrating Daryl’s 12th birthday. Evelyn having some good days with her quick wit mixed with her sleepy quiet bad.  Evelyn’s humor and sass.  Getting the little girls room painted  Marian gifting a dresser back to us that I had gifted her, so I didn’t need to find a new one on KSL classifieds. Getting free dirt and a free desk from Derek’s brother.  Derek’s brother helping me load the back of the big truck with his free dirt.  The guy whose car I scratched trying to maneuver the big truck in tight spaces being nice. I offered to pay for repairs and give him insurance information and he said not to worry nothing was broken.  Lucy speaking in church even though she thought it was a little soon since she spoke in April.(the down side of having a small number of youth on your ward= lots of chances to speak.) Lilly changing her day around to come celebrate Daryl’s birthday with us.  Glen and Daryl helping with the ...

Walked and walked and walked

Here are picture highlights from a couple weeks ago. I am going to try to be better at documenting the good we have going on. The struggle is really and always around but there is so much good going on too. Also this post has nothing to do with walking but I try to copy Heather and have parts of song lyrics be the titles of my posts. This is the phrase that came to mind. It seems like we are in the middle of an adventure right now, mostly with Evelyn, there is a lot of space to cover before we get to where we want to be. We are like pioneer children who sang as they walked and walked and walked….But I’m not really singing. It’s more complaining and morning and stressing and worrying. I think I will try singing because it might have a more positive outcome than what I am currently doing.  Probably a bit of inspiration for me to have a better attitude. On to the pictures.  I checked on Evelyn with the cameras this day knowing that her nurse was coming. This was the scene I got a...
