Forget the full moon

Tuesday evening when I was visiting with Larry and Janene, I got a call from Lilly. Let me back up. The day had just been a little weird and off. We usually help Grandma and Grandpa that night but I had stopped by on my way home from Evelyn’s to visit and say we’d do better next week because that day wasn’t working out. They were fine with that. I am so thankful they are flexible. I was chatting with them about how things were going when I got the call from Lilly.  It was something like this- Lilly- Mom, I just got home and Nugget(her goat) was back in the hexagon and I went to check on her and SHE JUST HAD BABIES. MOM, NIGGET JUST HAD BABIES! WHAT DO I DO?  Me-Oh, okay. That’s cool. Is the sack off their nose and mouth? Can they breathe?  Lilly- Yeah, they can breathe. Do I need to get towels for them or do anything?  Me- If Nugget is cleaning them off and they are breathing, they should be fine. I’ll head home.  Lilly- Okay,  it’s so cool! Nugget just had...

The house is still standing

Life is moving right along right now. What a full two weeks it has been. We have done a lot.  Here is a bit of a recap run down.  Celebrating birthdays for Janene and Ruth! (They have their own posts)         I made the house very smoky with a kitchen miss hap but did not have a fire or burn it down. Lucy and I went to Logan for her volleyball tournament. The team played great and had a lot of fun. They were bummed they didn’t really get to compete in the tournament though because of the boys on the team. They also had a stacking competition in between games that was pretty funny to watch.     Walking to work with Glen and the dogs then walking/jogging back home.    Prom dress shopping. That was so much easier and cheaper than I thought it would be.  Homework, lots of homework for Lilly and myself. Glen welded a shelf for his desk at work. Finished the “fix the wall paper “ in Evelyn’s bathroom project. Even better s...

Ruth at 8

Last week Ruth turned eight exciting years old. She was so excited for her birthday she could hardly contain herself with anticipation and excitement. She did make it. I think everything went pretty well that day considering the hype and pedistool the day was set on.  She got to go shopping with Grandma Richins the day before. She got presents that were surprises to her on her birthday.(I guess that is not one of my strengths generally.) We went to a trampoline park and played as a family, for the most part. Lilly was doing school stuff. Then we met up with Grandma and Grandpa Richins and ALL the Rindlisbachers for dinner at Texas Road House.  Lastly we went home and had ocean cake and ice cream of her choosing for dessert. Here are some things about Ruth at 8- She likes Pokémon, unicorns and rainbows, Star Wars, and Harry Potter.  She likes to read graphic novels like Wings of Fire.  She loves to play with hair, especially the front right side of her hair. Any...

Happy Birthday Janene

My wonderful mother-in-law turned 79 on the 10th. If there is a mother-in-law lottery when you get married, I am pretty sure I won it. Janene is great! Above are a couple of pictures I took of her on her birthday when she came to see Evelyn. She was also returning Ruth from going birthday shopping with her. Ruth got the presents that day not Janene.  The next day on Ruth’s birthday the whole family got together at Texas Roadhouse to celebrate her and Ruth a little. It was somewhat monumental because all of the Rindlisbacher’s were there!!! It’s been quite some time since we have seen Mikayla. She’s a busy lady working at Nordstrom’s, going to school and last I heard making the Dean’s list. The only downside was that we were seated in two separate booths.  We are working on finding a restaurant that has a space we could all share together.  Picture proof we saw Janae and all her kids. Janae has the long hair behind Lilly. Mikayla is to the right of her and Topher to the ri...

When the cats away the mice will play

Or work really hard.  What. A. Week.  The days seemed really long, but we made it through.  My parents went out of town last Sunday and came back today.  Marian and I were in charge of Evelyn all week. Thankfully, we have really helpful aunts, cousins and siblings and spouses to help us make it through.  Marian and I got a “great idea” to take the wallpaper that was falling off the walls in Evelyn’s bathroom off all the way and do something different. We thought it would be this great little project that we could get done before our parents came back.  It went like most home repair projects and wasn’t as simple as planned. What can you expect with a very old house. We are close to being able to paint after several set backs. We had so much help from Aunt Stephaine and Aunt Maridean, and our cousin Carrie.  Then there was the other part of life. With Lilly having her license, I started walking with Glen and the dogs to work and hustle back home. I...
