Utah Springs

I think I am fixing soup for dinner tonight!This is what we woke up to today. I know I posted a spring snow picture last year but it did it again. I think I am putting this up because I just read a post from Paige about it being 100 degrees where she lives. It could be that next week here, but not today. Good old Utah springs, you can go snow skiing at some of the resorts in the morning, and golf in the afternoon if you want! To bad I don't really do either.
I am not sure if I should be happy or sad about it. I guess I just hope it doesn't hurt what plants have already come up in the garden. I don't know if the chickens are in joying it . I kicked them out side to this kennel area we had last week so they would have more space. I thought it was done snowing but really should have known better. And even though this is a kennel area the dog is on the other side of the fence being a watch dog! Now wither she watches them hoping to get though the fence and eat one or watches them just wondering what they are and what they are doing, I don't know!
This is my dad's ASV machine that he has let us barrow to do some work in our yard. Since it came to our house the weather has taken a turn. SO now instead of playing on it in our yard it sits and we wait for drier days and dirt!
The girls are at least enjoying the snow! Lucy LOVES eating snow! Lilly did tell me," Mom, I don't want to play in the snow today." I think she'll change her mind.

Wow. That's serious snow. Not just a light skiff. Have fun with it while you still can!

That's a really fun looking machine your dad let you borrow. Can you drive it? Will you teach me? (When the snow melts, of course!)

I watched this video and it sealed the deal on this post. I have all sorts of things I could write about, but this has been at the front of my mind for a while. I have really been affected this past year by the divorces of two different couples I know. Not that, I haven't known any one before that has gotten divorced. These have just hit closer to home. One of them is Glen's boss, and Glen has worked with him lately. (This is not the norm. He can go months with out seeing him. He just goes in to work, sees what he's doing that night and goes out.) In working with him, they have talked about stuff and something he said to Glen has really made me think. I wasn't there but it was something to the extent of, "You guys are so lucky, because you love each other, just really love each other." My first thought to this was- yes, yes we do. My cup with blessings overflows

 I am trying to get back in the habit of blogging. Before I go to bed, even though I should be in bed here are blessings from this week. I don’t know it I will remember them all there were so many.  Being home to attend church with our ward.  Talks from two sister in our ward, Louisa Jones who is a brand new young woman and Holly Draney who is the Primary President, on Sister Kristin Yee’s conference talk, that complimented each other well.  They reminded me that God is in the details and even when mistakes are made he can use it to help us learn and bless us. Louisa talked about how she was mad when her parents decided they should move a few years ago but Heavely Father has made it work out. Holly brought up the definitions of the words possibility and joy. She also talked about repairing quilts that had things happen to them. Also a talk from Matt Reeves about the power of the priesthood and how it has blessed his life and has preserved his life.  A great less...

Head to the hills- July 7-14

Good things from this week were- Getting dirt to fill the planter box Daryl made for Grandpa Richins. It’s ready for him to use now!  Getting ready for girls camp. Watching Lucy play volleyball in a tournament at UVU with high school team girls. It’s crazy that is her last one as a high school player.  Eating dinner on the roof and watching the sunset. Girls camp, even the one bad part.  Showering after girls camp Sunday dinner at Larry and Janene's and playing with the whip These cool plants were at the nursery we got soil from. I think I might want some in my yard.  Lucy played in a volleyball tournament at UVU with the high school team.  Lucy thought eating on the roof would be a good idea one night so we could watch the sunset better. She was right. Though Ruth but mostly Beth got pretty comfortable exploring up there. My mom safety barometer went quite high till they got down.  The Oquirrh Mountain temple fit right between the trees for a perfect view....
