Because I'm waiting

These two columns, or articles intrigued or struck a cord with me the other day when they were in our local news paper. I put them in here just in case you want to read them. It may be because I am patiently, for the most part, awaiting the arrival of our next child(hopefully one month!). I think the fact that it has been quite some time since we have had a baby, especially a new born, in our home. I feel like I am going through a brief refresher course, though I know it will be nothing compared to when the baby is actually here. I think I have forgotten a lot. Maybe that is a good thing. Our Neighbors, who just had a baby keep telling me it will be like riding a bike and not to worry. I don't think I am worrying, just remembering what a change it will be to life right now.

Another thing some what on the same subject, and one of the ways I can tell our baby will be here soon is by the month. Yes I know August is before September, and always has been. I am talking about our ward. From July, which actually turned out to be June, because one baby was early, to December there is a baby due every month. It was going to be two in July but ended up June, and one in July, and the one for this month is coming any day, and then it is our turn!

I think it is rather funny, because our Relief Society President who is fairly new to the ward made a comment about there not being to many babies in Relief Society on Sundays. I think everyone is making up for that even though no one planned it that way.

Enough of my ranting. Enjoy the articles if you decide to read them!

The articles were lovely reminders that it's okay to slow down and enjoy your baby. I'm so excited it is soon for you!

L is for the way...

I watched this video and it sealed the deal on this post. I have all sorts of things I could write about, but this has been at the front of my mind for a while. I have really been affected this past year by the divorces of two different couples I know. Not that, I haven't known any one before that has gotten divorced. These have just hit closer to home. One of them is Glen's boss, and Glen has worked with him lately. (This is not the norm. He can go months with out seeing him. He just goes in to work, sees what he's doing that night and goes out.) In working with him, they have talked about stuff and something he said to Glen has really made me think. I wasn't there but it was something to the extent of, "You guys are so lucky, because you love each other, just really love each other." My first thought to this was- yes, yes we do. Then I thought how sad that he and not every married couple have that. The just of all of this rambling is that I love my ...

My cup with blessings overflows

I am trying to get back in the habit of blogging. Before I go to bed, even though I should be in bed here are blessings from this week. I don’t know it I will remember them all there were so many.  Being home to attend church with our ward.  Talks from two sister in our ward, Louisa Jones who is a brand new young woman and Holly Draney who is the Primary President, on Sister Kristin Yee’s conference talk, that complimented each other well.  They reminded me that God is in the details and even when mistakes are made he can use it to help us learn and bless us. Louisa talked about how she was mad when her parents decided they should move a few years ago but Heavely Father has made it work out. Holly brought up the definitions of the words possibility and joy. She also talked about repairing quilts that had things happen to them. Also a talk from Matt Reeves about the power of the priesthood and how it has blessed his life and has preserved his life.  A great less...

Head to the hills- July 7-14

Good things from this week were- Getting dirt to fill the planter box Daryl made for Grandpa Richins. It’s ready for him to use now!  Getting ready for girls camp. Watching Lucy play volleyball in a tournament at UVU with high school team girls. It’s crazy that is her last one as a high school player.  Eating dinner on the roof and watching the sunset. Girls camp, even the one bad part.  Showering after girls camp Sunday dinner at Larry and Janene's and playing with the whip These cool plants were at the nursery we got soil from. I think I might want some in my yard.  Lucy played in a volleyball tournament at UVU with the high school team.  Lucy thought eating on the roof would be a good idea one night so we could watch the sunset better. She was right. Though Ruth but mostly Beth got pretty comfortable exploring up there. My mom safety barometer went quite high till they got down.  The Oquirrh Mountain temple fit right between the trees for a perfect view....
