Have I mentioned I hate shopping? I do. I don't mind grocery shopping. I happen to really like food and the thought of combining ingredients to make something yummy is one I like. It's just all the other stuff mostly buying clothes for myself.

Maybe  I am just cheap?  I am fine keeping my cash in my pocket and wearing my worn out out of date t-shirt and jeans.

Maybe it is my self awareness that  I am not fashionable or in style? Nor do I feel like I dress myself well. I think me and fashion or/and style are opposites. In fact I think one of my fantasy unrealistic wishes would be to have someone magically do my shopping for me, picking out things I would look good in, that would fit right, that are the right color and are things I would actually ware with out me having to try them on or go shopping with them.

Maybe it's just that it is late, and I went to Walmart with my kids by myself after eight thirty at night.
Did  I just put a DUMB sign up on my head?    Yes.
It wasn't even for clothing items. It was items to so I could finish making presents for people. The thought of going to Walmart is not my favorite but Walmart + Saturday = me thinking death is near, so much so that I delayed putting my kids to bed, and went to Walmart on a Friday night with them.  My sign is flashing now right!

I think it is just December and even though  I mentioned  I needed to do my Christmas shopping by Thanksgiving, being the extremly mature person I am I rebeled against my self and put it off. And now I am suffering. Ugh.  Don't worry though "it's the most wonderful time of the year!"

I need a t-shirt that reads:
Walmart + Saturday = me thinking death is near

Maybe you do too.

About that sign . . . don't worry, we've all got one.

I still like to scroll down to the post with all the beautiful family photos (including beautiful Roberta in a flowery hat) Everything there is so charming and green. Like a fairy tale.

I this blog, but I miss the link to Glen's blog because I heard there's something funny there.

You should try shopping with my mom. She was amazing to grow up with. We would go to the dressing room and she would bring us all sorts of great items to try and then tell us if they fit right and looked good. She's a wonderful personal shopper.

I want to be your personal shopper! I think it would be fun to hang out with you and find you things that enhance your natural grace and beauty. (I think Kirsta and my mom would be fun to have there too.) I used to be the wardrobe mistress for my sisters and I would love to have a sisters' day with you.

And I SO relate to the Walmart equation. I think it is just Walmart. Also, anything after about 7pm often makes me feel that death is near.

L is for the way...

I watched this video and it sealed the deal on this post. I have all sorts of things I could write about, but this has been at the front of my mind for a while. I have really been affected this past year by the divorces of two different couples I know. Not that, I haven't known any one before that has gotten divorced. These have just hit closer to home. One of them is Glen's boss, and Glen has worked with him lately. (This is not the norm. He can go months with out seeing him. He just goes in to work, sees what he's doing that night and goes out.) In working with him, they have talked about stuff and something he said to Glen has really made me think. I wasn't there but it was something to the extent of, "You guys are so lucky, because you love each other, just really love each other." My first thought to this was- yes, yes we do. Then I thought how sad that he and not every married couple have that. The just of all of this rambling is that I love my ...

My cup with blessings overflows

I am trying to get back in the habit of blogging. Before I go to bed, even though I should be in bed here are blessings from this week. I don’t know it I will remember them all there were so many.  Being home to attend church with our ward.  Talks from two sister in our ward, Louisa Jones who is a brand new young woman and Holly Draney who is the Primary President, on Sister Kristin Yee’s conference talk, that complimented each other well.  They reminded me that God is in the details and even when mistakes are made he can use it to help us learn and bless us. Louisa talked about how she was mad when her parents decided they should move a few years ago but Heavely Father has made it work out. Holly brought up the definitions of the words possibility and joy. She also talked about repairing quilts that had things happen to them. Also a talk from Matt Reeves about the power of the priesthood and how it has blessed his life and has preserved his life.  A great less...

Head to the hills- July 7-14

Good things from this week were- Getting dirt to fill the planter box Daryl made for Grandpa Richins. It’s ready for him to use now!  Getting ready for girls camp. Watching Lucy play volleyball in a tournament at UVU with high school team girls. It’s crazy that is her last one as a high school player.  Eating dinner on the roof and watching the sunset. Girls camp, even the one bad part.  Showering after girls camp Sunday dinner at Larry and Janene's and playing with the whip These cool plants were at the nursery we got soil from. I think I might want some in my yard.  Lucy played in a volleyball tournament at UVU with the high school team.  Lucy thought eating on the roof would be a good idea one night so we could watch the sunset better. She was right. Though Ruth but mostly Beth got pretty comfortable exploring up there. My mom safety barometer went quite high till they got down.  The Oquirrh Mountain temple fit right between the trees for a perfect view....
