Inginuity

This probably shouldn't be allowed but when we have a pull up bar in the hall, I think we ask for it. This is how she figured out how to get the stuff she had knocked down back up. Silly kid. (This happened a while ago I am just finally hoping it will post from my phone. There isn't stuff hanging from there anymore. The girls do still climb the walls though.)

What really happens...

Here is to a day so wonderful you want to run around your house with underwater on your head! A peak at what really happens hear!

Guam

I wish this post was going to be talking about a great island get away to this island or any island as a matter of fact( can you tell it's winter, and though it has been mild, more sun is what I would really like?(What's that you say Phoenix and the Grand Canyon are calling my name and much closer to visit? I know. Darn this basement that's not finished.)) It's not. I guess it's me asking for help. I need more eyes. Does anyone have a spare Guam quarter? I'll pay you back at least a quarter to trade! This is a silly question really but it's the last one Evelyn needs for her collection. She started keeping state quarters here and there over the last ten years. She eventually got enough that I got her a book to keep them in. Once we had the book it turn in to a quest to fill it,which wasn't to hard since she had done a good job of collecting. Well we have gotten all the states but the book also had the territories of the U.S.  Until a couple days ago t...

Reading

Two down fourty eight to go. I have finished reading two books, The Mansion by Henry Van Dyke and Born to Run Christopher McDougall.  The first was short and easy. It's a good book to help you remember what is important and to do good with out thought for the credit you'll get. The second book, I really liked too. I listened to it, which was good and bad. It made it so I could get through it fast but the language was rough and I think if I had read the book I would have been able to skip it better. Aside from the language I found it very interesting and it's made me want to look in to minimalist shoes. In the process of doing this reading or listening I have realized I need be careful the books I listen too with my kids. Born to Run as well as the one of the books I am listening to now,  29 Gifts, use language I don't and I don't want my kids listening to it. It also made me wonder if I should really be listening to it. I know that language is part of most of the ...

Dishes

The girls are in change of washing and rinsing dishes tonight.  I loaded the dish washer and it's already running and Glen is at Young men's, since he is now the president. There are still dishes. So they are helping. I will dry, if they get more than two for me to dry in the drying rack. They have turned the dishes in to toys. There is a wife, who is drowning in to hot of rinse water, floor gnomes, talking happy tongs, some bubble blowing in the rinse water, eating of dish soap bubbles, and a song being sung about dirt. I have my amusement for the evening. The sink is as full of water as it can be, their hands are prunes, the floor is wet in front of the sink, and a large stack of uncleaned dishes still remain. It is bed time though, so I guess I'll be finishing dishes. But I did get Daryl to sleep while waiting for them.  I can't complain about an evening where the kids help with dishes while getting along, and giving me good entertainment and the chance to rock my...

What I ment to say was...

I've decided that being the most beautiful redhead on the Wasatch Front is really all the affirmation I need.  I won't ever need to worry about time management or patience because inherently, I'm awesome.  How did I come to this realization?  Two things:  a man as tremendous as Glen chose me over all those silly-headed girls that chased him around, and my children are growing up happier than any other kids on the planet.  Things are just about perfect for me -- except for the fact that I yearn to take hikes now and then.  I'm sure there's someone out there who wants to hike the Grand Canyon with me in early summer -- maybe someone who lives in Phoenix.  If I just phrased it right, I'm sure I could finagle a commitment out of her.  And maybe I'd have to do that in person -- preferably during the winter when going to Phoenix is pleasant and breezy.  Anyone in Phoenix in the mood for a visit? (I didn't really write this. Wonderful...

Back to Christmas

These are the only two pictures we have of Christmas day. It was fun. My sister and her boyfriend and dogs slept over, and were like a big Christmas present on the front room floor. (The dogs were in our patio room, not the house.) I wish I would have given them the camera to see the girls faces when they came down the hall. They were so excited. We have Santa magic in full strength at our house, even though Glen and I are really bad at that whole thing. We have a light we need to exchange and I mentioned needing to take it back to Target and Lucy said," Don't you mean the north pole?" I don't have a picture of them but I love Christmas cards. I wish I got as many back as I sent out, but it is still great to get these little surprises in the mail. I wish it didn't end with the season. Maybe I 'll try to write notes to people through out the year for fun!  This is our tree. I took a lot of pictures of it this year because it was so funny, I wanted to r...
