Pictures

I almost have Ruth's birth story typed up. It's not done yet and I want to do it justice because it was a HUGE blessing and answer to many, many prayers. Until I get it done her are some pictures of us, but probably mostly Ruth.
Ruth on her due date 3/16/13.

The girls wondered if that bow would ever come out of her hair. Glen told them  he was sure by time she went to college it would be out!

These three pictures were our egg hunting on Easter. I did all the hiding and had to come back out to make sure they got them all. It was a really good day.
Ruth putting "the sleeper hold" on Glen.

Tummy time.
My red heads. At least for now, I don't know if Ruth's will stay red.
Ruth is doing great. She lost at least 10% of her body weight while we were at the hospital. So we had to get her checked out on the Friday after she was born. She was 8 lbs 6 oz., 21 1/4 inches then. By her two week appointment she had gained that pound plus some back. She was 9 lbs. 10 oz. and 21 inches. We aren't exactly sure how long she really is. We just know they didn't stretch her very well at the hospital.
Cheesing for the camera and decorating an egg carton.

Daryl really likes this baby chair. Luckily it is big enough for him to use, because he buckles himself in to it and gets "stuck" but then carries it around to where he wants to be.
He can pretend to be a sleeping baby, but not so.
When you start hanging out with a newborn/ infant a lot, your little boy gains about 10 pounds and becomes a giant over night. I seriously think that is what happened while I was at the hospital. He is so big now.
Evelyn and Ruth. She really likes her and will even take her away from Roberta when she is holding her.

Your Easter pictures reminded me of an aging friend, who recently told me that one advantage of being old is, "Your can hid your own Easter Eggs and still have fun finding them."

Your baby is so precious! But I'm biased. I think all your kids are beautiful and extra sweet.

I loved so much seeing Ruth in person! What a wonderful addition to your great family. Lilly's haircut is so adorable and Daryl is a big boy - I can see why your newborn makes him seem even bigger! Love you!

L is for the way...

I watched this video and it sealed the deal on this post. I have all sorts of things I could write about, but this has been at the front of my mind for a while. I have really been affected this past year by the divorces of two different couples I know. Not that, I haven't known any one before that has gotten divorced. These have just hit closer to home. One of them is Glen's boss, and Glen has worked with him lately. (This is not the norm. He can go months with out seeing him. He just goes in to work, sees what he's doing that night and goes out.) In working with him, they have talked about stuff and something he said to Glen has really made me think. I wasn't there but it was something to the extent of, "You guys are so lucky, because you love each other, just really love each other." My first thought to this was- yes, yes we do. Then I thought how sad that he and not every married couple have that. The just of all of this rambling is that I love my ...

My cup with blessings overflows

I am trying to get back in the habit of blogging. Before I go to bed, even though I should be in bed here are blessings from this week. I don’t know it I will remember them all there were so many.  Being home to attend church with our ward.  Talks from two sister in our ward, Louisa Jones who is a brand new young woman and Holly Draney who is the Primary President, on Sister Kristin Yee’s conference talk, that complimented each other well.  They reminded me that God is in the details and even when mistakes are made he can use it to help us learn and bless us. Louisa talked about how she was mad when her parents decided they should move a few years ago but Heavely Father has made it work out. Holly brought up the definitions of the words possibility and joy. She also talked about repairing quilts that had things happen to them. Also a talk from Matt Reeves about the power of the priesthood and how it has blessed his life and has preserved his life.  A great less...

Head to the hills- July 7-14

Good things from this week were- Getting dirt to fill the planter box Daryl made for Grandpa Richins. It’s ready for him to use now!  Getting ready for girls camp. Watching Lucy play volleyball in a tournament at UVU with high school team girls. It’s crazy that is her last one as a high school player.  Eating dinner on the roof and watching the sunset. Girls camp, even the one bad part.  Showering after girls camp Sunday dinner at Larry and Janene's and playing with the whip These cool plants were at the nursery we got soil from. I think I might want some in my yard.  Lucy played in a volleyball tournament at UVU with the high school team.  Lucy thought eating on the roof would be a good idea one night so we could watch the sunset better. She was right. Though Ruth but mostly Beth got pretty comfortable exploring up there. My mom safety barometer went quite high till they got down.  The Oquirrh Mountain temple fit right between the trees for a perfect view....
