Beth at 9 months

Our baby Bethany is nine months old. She is crawling and climbing everywhere. I usually am her favorite thing to climb. In the last week or two her bottom two front teeth have cut through so her all gummy smile will be going away. I think her top teeth are working on coming too because she has had a fever mostly the past week and been a bit of a monster. ... Okay she has been a monster with me around. If I am out of sight she is pretty much perfect. It's a rather tiring and patience testing phase.
Friday we go to her check up to find out her stats. Everyone tells me she is so small and that may be. She likes to eat and is really wanting to feed herself real food these days. She likes nursing a lot right now but gets distracted easy. She also likes to do something with her hands at the same time, which currently is scratching and pinching my chest. Those dang razor sharp baby nails.
Mostly Beth has just always wanted to go and do the things all the big people around her are doing. She spends most of her calories doing that so her cousin, Ridgge, that is two months and a week younger than her out weighs her by a few pounds.
He may out weigh her but right now she has the upper hand on mobility, which he doesn't much like.

She is not walking yet but is closer every day. She cruises around all the furnature and can balance for ten seconds or more by herself before setting down.
She was a great sleeper when she was smaller but during a growth suet or something that changed. We are working on getting it back though because I really like sleep.
Over all she is a really good and happy baby and we are so happy she joined our family months ago. They seem to have been the fastest months of my life but maybe I have said that with all my kids? The days seem long but the months seem to be flying by with them. She thinks this is a fun place to be.
Sometimes she lets Evelyn or Roberta hold her for a bit, usually she is too busy though.
Here dhe decided she needed to stop nursing to tell me something very important, and she was probably playing with my nipple or scratching me with her razor fingernail at the same time.
She likes to bear crawl places but sometimes her head must get heavy or she just needs to look at where she has been. She often does this and I think it is rather cute.

I love every picture of this sweet girl! And I'm feeling you on kids that are terrible when you are around and perfect when you're not. So sorry!

Oh how adorable. That last photo is good for the heart of anyone who misses the big beautiful toothless grins!

L is for the way...

I watched this video and it sealed the deal on this post. I have all sorts of things I could write about, but this has been at the front of my mind for a while. I have really been affected this past year by the divorces of two different couples I know. Not that, I haven't known any one before that has gotten divorced. These have just hit closer to home. One of them is Glen's boss, and Glen has worked with him lately. (This is not the norm. He can go months with out seeing him. He just goes in to work, sees what he's doing that night and goes out.) In working with him, they have talked about stuff and something he said to Glen has really made me think. I wasn't there but it was something to the extent of, "You guys are so lucky, because you love each other, just really love each other." My first thought to this was- yes, yes we do. Then I thought how sad that he and not every married couple have that. The just of all of this rambling is that I love my ...

My cup with blessings overflows

I am trying to get back in the habit of blogging. Before I go to bed, even though I should be in bed here are blessings from this week. I don’t know it I will remember them all there were so many.  Being home to attend church with our ward.  Talks from two sister in our ward, Louisa Jones who is a brand new young woman and Holly Draney who is the Primary President, on Sister Kristin Yee’s conference talk, that complimented each other well.  They reminded me that God is in the details and even when mistakes are made he can use it to help us learn and bless us. Louisa talked about how she was mad when her parents decided they should move a few years ago but Heavely Father has made it work out. Holly brought up the definitions of the words possibility and joy. She also talked about repairing quilts that had things happen to them. Also a talk from Matt Reeves about the power of the priesthood and how it has blessed his life and has preserved his life.  A great less...

Head to the hills- July 7-14

Good things from this week were- Getting dirt to fill the planter box Daryl made for Grandpa Richins. It’s ready for him to use now!  Getting ready for girls camp. Watching Lucy play volleyball in a tournament at UVU with high school team girls. It’s crazy that is her last one as a high school player.  Eating dinner on the roof and watching the sunset. Girls camp, even the one bad part.  Showering after girls camp Sunday dinner at Larry and Janene's and playing with the whip These cool plants were at the nursery we got soil from. I think I might want some in my yard.  Lucy played in a volleyball tournament at UVU with the high school team.  Lucy thought eating on the roof would be a good idea one night so we could watch the sunset better. She was right. Though Ruth but mostly Beth got pretty comfortable exploring up there. My mom safety barometer went quite high till they got down.  The Oquirrh Mountain temple fit right between the trees for a perfect view....
