August 15-21

When I pulled pictures for this week, last week I didn't think anything too significant had happened. Now that this week is a week farther in our past I know it was a nice calm before the storm aka school life hit. It was mostly my phone being used to take selfies
The baby being kissed by sisters who tried out grandma's lipstick or colored chapstick.
Evening fun, I guess. I don't know who took this.
Daryl wanted to know how yeast worked so we finally made bread to show him. It was a bit of a test in patience.
Morning snuggles and laughs with my ten month old baby.
A trip to the middle school to get my 7th grader acquainted with her new stomping grounds. And to figure out her locker. Lucy was with us and was not entertained by the middle school so she was mostly a pesty little sister.
I was a war, or at least it felt that way, with Beth over sleeping at night. I think I took the picture as proof that she did sleep and I like holding sleeping babies and I love her a lot more when she sleeps and lets me.
Saturday Glen and I ran away to Garden City, to see Ready Fire Aim at the Pickleville Playhouse. It was really nice to be together with out kids for that long. The play was silly and fun.
Daryl chose this outfit for church. He knows how he wants to look for church and has opinions I didn't expect about his clothes. It sure is fun having him in the mix.
And Beth being the cute baby that dad can't get mad at even if she interrupts his attempt at recording a phone message to send out to the school. It pays to be little!  It was a nice end to summer.

Great pictures! I'm glad you got away and I'm glad your baby got lipstick kisses and that she let you hold her because she was asleep. I like mine much better when they sleep.

L is for the way...

I watched this video and it sealed the deal on this post. I have all sorts of things I could write about, but this has been at the front of my mind for a while. I have really been affected this past year by the divorces of two different couples I know. Not that, I haven't known any one before that has gotten divorced. These have just hit closer to home. One of them is Glen's boss, and Glen has worked with him lately. (This is not the norm. He can go months with out seeing him. He just goes in to work, sees what he's doing that night and goes out.) In working with him, they have talked about stuff and something he said to Glen has really made me think. I wasn't there but it was something to the extent of, "You guys are so lucky, because you love each other, just really love each other." My first thought to this was- yes, yes we do. Then I thought how sad that he and not every married couple have that. The just of all of this rambling is that I love my ...

My cup with blessings overflows

I am trying to get back in the habit of blogging. Before I go to bed, even though I should be in bed here are blessings from this week. I don’t know it I will remember them all there were so many.  Being home to attend church with our ward.  Talks from two sister in our ward, Louisa Jones who is a brand new young woman and Holly Draney who is the Primary President, on Sister Kristin Yee’s conference talk, that complimented each other well.  They reminded me that God is in the details and even when mistakes are made he can use it to help us learn and bless us. Louisa talked about how she was mad when her parents decided they should move a few years ago but Heavely Father has made it work out. Holly brought up the definitions of the words possibility and joy. She also talked about repairing quilts that had things happen to them. Also a talk from Matt Reeves about the power of the priesthood and how it has blessed his life and has preserved his life.  A great less...

Head to the hills- July 7-14

Good things from this week were- Getting dirt to fill the planter box Daryl made for Grandpa Richins. It’s ready for him to use now!  Getting ready for girls camp. Watching Lucy play volleyball in a tournament at UVU with high school team girls. It’s crazy that is her last one as a high school player.  Eating dinner on the roof and watching the sunset. Girls camp, even the one bad part.  Showering after girls camp Sunday dinner at Larry and Janene's and playing with the whip These cool plants were at the nursery we got soil from. I think I might want some in my yard.  Lucy played in a volleyball tournament at UVU with the high school team.  Lucy thought eating on the roof would be a good idea one night so we could watch the sunset better. She was right. Though Ruth but mostly Beth got pretty comfortable exploring up there. My mom safety barometer went quite high till they got down.  The Oquirrh Mountain temple fit right between the trees for a perfect view....
