July 1st- Glen's first day as a vice principal at Riverton High. As a side note since it was the Fourth of July weekend it was pretty dead at the school. All the other VP's took the day off and the principal came in around 11. Glen was there at 8 am to start figuring out all he's suppose to do. (He had done some training with the guy he is replacing for about a week.)

Daryl also graduated from Upstart preschool that he had been doing online. That meant he took their end of year assessment at one of their locations so parents can't help the kids. It was really good but it has been nice to have a break from it. 
2-In the morning Glen, my brother, Jed and I went mountain biking. Jed loves it, especially the down hill. This was the first time Glen had been and 2nd for me. I had gone with Jed  earlier on a trail that I was sure he was trying to kill me on. 
This one was much better and much more beginner friendly. 
After the ride I took the girls to our main city park where some friends were performing with their Irish dance group. We went to support them and to see if the girls would like to try that kind of dance in the fall. 
We couldn't leave the park with out some playground time. We did get away from the park with out doing any of the carnival or town days things, weither for good or for bad.
We kept it pretty low key that night and stayed in and home from fireworks to watch Zootopia. I'm not sure what we were thinking.

I watched this video and it sealed the deal on this post. I have all sorts of things I could write about, but this has been at the front of my mind for a while. I have really been affected this past year by the divorces of two different couples I know. Not that, I haven't known any one before that has gotten divorced. These have just hit closer to home. One of them is Glen's boss, and Glen has worked with him lately. (This is not the norm. He can go months with out seeing him. He just goes in to work, sees what he's doing that night and goes out.) In working with him, they have talked about stuff and something he said to Glen has really made me think. I wasn't there but it was something to the extent of, "You guys are so lucky, because you love each other, just really love each other." My first thought to this was- yes, yes we do. My cup with blessings overflows

 I am trying to get back in the habit of blogging. Before I go to bed, even though I should be in bed here are blessings from this week. I don’t know it I will remember them all there were so many.  Being home to attend church with our ward.  Talks from two sister in our ward, Louisa Jones who is a brand new young woman and Holly Draney who is the Primary President, on Sister Kristin Yee’s conference talk, that complimented each other well.  They reminded me that God is in the details and even when mistakes are made he can use it to help us learn and bless us. Louisa talked about how she was mad when her parents decided they should move a few years ago but Heavely Father has made it work out. Holly brought up the definitions of the words possibility and joy. She also talked about repairing quilts that had things happen to them. Also a talk from Matt Reeves about the power of the priesthood and how it has blessed his life and has preserved his life.  A great less...

Head to the hills- July 7-14

Good things from this week were- Getting dirt to fill the planter box Daryl made for Grandpa Richins. It’s ready for him to use now!  Getting ready for girls camp. Watching Lucy play volleyball in a tournament at UVU with high school team girls. It’s crazy that is her last one as a high school player.  Eating dinner on the roof and watching the sunset. Girls camp, even the one bad part.  Showering after girls camp Sunday dinner at Larry and Janene's and playing with the whip These cool plants were at the nursery we got soil from. I think I might want some in my yard.  Lucy played in a volleyball tournament at UVU with the high school team.  Lucy thought eating on the roof would be a good idea one night so we could watch the sunset better. She was right. Though Ruth but mostly Beth got pretty comfortable exploring up there. My mom safety barometer went quite high till they got down.  The Oquirrh Mountain temple fit right between the trees for a perfect view....
