I am trying to be more grateful, thankful, happy, positive and see heaven's help in my life more often. It doesn't come as easy to me as it once did. I have gotten really good at beating myself up and though I didn't notice it initially, it has changed how I treat and think about others as well. I have had a particularly difficult couple days. Mostly of my own doing or inflicting and I will blame hormones too.
I was thinking back on this week wondering what even happened and if any of it was good.
I realized there was so much good that I had forgotten in my days of orneriness and even in those days there was good too. I just need to remember. It reminded me about a post from Kirsta quite awhile ago where she talked about remembering. It was a good one.
So here are some of the good things from the week and hopefully some random pictures.
I am on the hospitality committee (that means me and my neighbor) for the elementary school which provides dinner one night of parent teacher conferences. Despite my neighbor that I work with not liking the dinner plan and not having time to help a lot. Help came from other people and the potato bar with apple crisp was a raging success.
My mom and sister were so helpful with getting the food prepped and a different neighbor helped cook. Glen happen to have a week were there were no supervisions at the high school and totally took care of the kids two nights.
To go along with that Daryl and Lucy got good reports from their teachers, who we really like, and Daryl is continuing to make progress with his speech.
Since February, Marian (said MaryAnne, my sister) has been working with me at Evelyn and Roberta's. It continues to be a huge blessing to both me and them. Beth and Ellie, her little girl, are the dynamic duo. Ellie is almost one and Beth is teaching her all her tricks. They got down Grandma's stairs this day and were headed off on an adventure all on their own.
I was able to get the quilting on this minion quilt finished by the deadline it needed to be done by. I also used some techniques and things I haven't done too much and it turned out nicely. It is nice to see the positives from lots of learning curves or mistakes.
I helped at the middle school during lunch on Friday with red ribbon week activities. Beth was my helper but was overwhelmed by everything and just fell asleep on me which never happens.
Glen and the kids spent most of the day with the other kids working on a shelter for them for the winter. I was in a bad mood and knew that at some point the house would have to be cleaned. I stayed inside and cleaned the whole house while they worked outside. It really made Lucy happy because it was her idea. Even though I didn't really want to clean by myself it got done which is always nice and I was around everyone else less so they didn't have to deal with my orneriness.

This is a picture of the completed shower and installed toilet in the back bedroom. We are getting some more bids on cabinets for it. The first one came in much higher than we thought for two rather small cabinets. Glen did all the electrical and the van and lights are all installed. It is so nice to be so close to having this done finally!

This is just a silly thing that Beth did. She was with my while I was putting things away in the storage room. She found all these extra hangars and decided they needed to be necklaces... or something. She is such a funny girl.
A few other things not pictured are a double date with Glen and another couple Amy and Jordan Kemp to Desert Star's Christmas Vacation- The Polarized Express. Dates are always good and going with the Kemp's just added to the fun.
Remembering that I needed to take a salad to the church to help with food for a funeral that I almost forgot about and then seeing my doctor, his wife and one of their kids at the grocery store while getting ingredients.
It was a good reminder that I should make an appointment to see him clinic. He could probably help me with some of the things I have been avoiding.
While talking to a friend at church she told me about a surgery she was having in the midst of having clip boards sent around to sign up to help other people and missionaries in need of food in the coming days. None of those were for her family so I am hoping I can help them out this week with something. What was more important though was she was nice enough to be very open about what she is having done and answer questions I had. It seemed to be another little nudge to look in to something I have been thinking on and off but seems scary.
The good and the Divine were there!
