This past week was Spring break for our district. Our plans were to be here.
By Thursday we might have started not adhering to guidelines as well. Cousins need things to do and Grandpa is good at projects. Jed’s kids came to Cranes and helped with the moving of logs and branches after Grandpa trimmed and cut the boxelder tree. Mark also worked on his quilt top project with Grandma Egbert and there was some Easter egg dying.

TaLyn, Mark and Lucy ended up staying the night with Grandma and Grandpa Egbert because they were working on sewing projects late. Grandma said she took them as prisoners and the above are their mug shots. Lucy forgot to add she stole a loaf of bread and broke a windowpane to her crimes!

At the end most of the evening, most of the hard boiled eggs were used for batting practice/ stress relief. It was Not what we planned but a good break from online school and social distancing. We feel fortunate that we have family around and that I work for that we get to have in our safe people group. It is making this a little easier.
We So tried to do better at following the steps of the Savior through the week to see what his last week was like. Some of us participated in the Worldwide fast, and are hoping and praying that the combined prayers and offerings of so many will help, and maybe the way they have helped so far is to know that it is a worldwide problem and we are all in this together. We have more in common than we think.
Lake Powell. It was our week with the house boat timeshare.
Then COVID -19 happened and the maintenance guy for the boat was still working on repairs and improvements on it in dry dock. Finally they closed Lake Powell and ordered all boaters off of the water.
So we didn’t go.
Instead we “dug a little deeper, to find out who we are,” and get as ready for concrete as we can be with out other people. This was all done by just us. The HVAC guy is suppose to come this week to move the A/C unit. My Dad might bring gravel and his skid steer or tractor to move the gravel later in the week.
We enjoyed the tulips and hyacinths at Evelyn and Roberta’s.
The kids camped out in the tent on a really chilly Tuesday night and watched a movie before hand. Ruth slept over at Grandma and Grandpa Richins that night. The next night I slept out there with Beth, Ruth and Lucy. It was warmer that night!
Lilly’s friend, Clarissa had her 16th birthday and they had a little social distancing front yard appearance time for her, tape measures included. They were so excited to see each other and chat in person. Kia is the other friend there.

The tree swing was also a good distraction during the week.

Sunday the people that had been together earlier in the week gathered for dinner and an egg hunt. The ones that hadn’t been around were good and kept their distance. They were really missed. There was a little kid egg hunt. A tween/teenager hunt and then an egg hi not for the adults done mostly by the teenagers. It was quite memorable.

The social distancing 16th birthday was unique. And a little sad. These are the times we will look back on and say, "Remember when it was my special ___________ and we were just happy to see each others faces in real life?"
Spring break is a little hard! Good to be getting back to more planned activities. Thank you teachers!!
