Pictures of the last of April first of May

Another socially distant birthday party for one of Lilly’s friends
Jed getting loved on/ climbed on by part of his fan club
Grandpa Egbert brought some of the horses down from the canyon and Beth and Ellie HAD to have a ride
Documenting how big Clara and Lincoln are next to Uncle Jed before he leaves for awhile.
A bike ride on the parkway trail with a pit stop and leg stretching for the trailer riders
All Beth needed to learn how to ride her bike on two wheels was her cousin Ridge, who is her age, to come show her.
Warm enough weather that the kids thought,” It is so hot, we need a water day.”
Lilly and Lucy’s turn by Uncle Jed
We broke our social distant rules to get together and wish Jed well on his adventure for the next little while. It was great to see and be around more family for a few hours that day. We sure will miss this fun loving silly guy.
Well Ellie might not miss him too much. Hopefully when he’s back she will find out how cool he is.
Lucy got to make a paper chain with one piece of paper for a school assignment. She might have gotten a little competitive.  It was 36’5”. I think the next closest was 26”.
Ellie and Beth found grandpa while he was working one day and went for a bumpy ride. The skid steer is not as nice a ride as the tractor for them.
Ellie greeting Evelyn one morning. These two are the best teasing buddies.
Luckily, Grandpa has big arms and a big heart and is willing to have sidekicks on some of his projects.

Really, what do kids do who do not have a grandpa with tractors? I think there are any essential element of a good childhood. Does he let you drive it every once in awhile? You're grown up, after all. That photo of Evelyn giggling with her best buddy is so cute. Your teenagers are glamorous. Sounds like you're keeping up with all this social distancing and yet meeting friends and family. You guys are great.

Fun pictures! I'm with Paige about the tractors. So much fun to have a grandpa with tractors!

Yay for Beth learning to ride a bike! So cute on that tiny little bike. How old is she???

And Lucy's super-long paper strip was the best! That is quite a feat.

L is for the way...

I watched this video and it sealed the deal on this post. I have all sorts of things I could write about, but this has been at the front of my mind for a while. I have really been affected this past year by the divorces of two different couples I know. Not that, I haven't known any one before that has gotten divorced. These have just hit closer to home. One of them is Glen's boss, and Glen has worked with him lately. (This is not the norm. He can go months with out seeing him. He just goes in to work, sees what he's doing that night and goes out.) In working with him, they have talked about stuff and something he said to Glen has really made me think. I wasn't there but it was something to the extent of, "You guys are so lucky, because you love each other, just really love each other." My first thought to this was- yes, yes we do. Then I thought how sad that he and not every married couple have that. The just of all of this rambling is that I love my ...

My cup with blessings overflows

I am trying to get back in the habit of blogging. Before I go to bed, even though I should be in bed here are blessings from this week. I don’t know it I will remember them all there were so many.  Being home to attend church with our ward.  Talks from two sister in our ward, Louisa Jones who is a brand new young woman and Holly Draney who is the Primary President, on Sister Kristin Yee’s conference talk, that complimented each other well.  They reminded me that God is in the details and even when mistakes are made he can use it to help us learn and bless us. Louisa talked about how she was mad when her parents decided they should move a few years ago but Heavely Father has made it work out. Holly brought up the definitions of the words possibility and joy. She also talked about repairing quilts that had things happen to them. Also a talk from Matt Reeves about the power of the priesthood and how it has blessed his life and has preserved his life.  A great less...

Head to the hills- July 7-14

Good things from this week were- Getting dirt to fill the planter box Daryl made for Grandpa Richins. It’s ready for him to use now!  Getting ready for girls camp. Watching Lucy play volleyball in a tournament at UVU with high school team girls. It’s crazy that is her last one as a high school player.  Eating dinner on the roof and watching the sunset. Girls camp, even the one bad part.  Showering after girls camp Sunday dinner at Larry and Janene's and playing with the whip These cool plants were at the nursery we got soil from. I think I might want some in my yard.  Lucy played in a volleyball tournament at UVU with the high school team.  Lucy thought eating on the roof would be a good idea one night so we could watch the sunset better. She was right. Though Ruth but mostly Beth got pretty comfortable exploring up there. My mom safety barometer went quite high till they got down.  The Oquirrh Mountain temple fit right between the trees for a perfect view....
