What a week. Monday was our last day of quarantine. I spent it trying to make sure we were ready for Tuesday. Glen did his work and then started cutting down the apricot tree to start making way for the new barn/shed we want to put in.

Tuesday hit and it was off to the races again. Beth got to go to her first day of preschool. It was a rough hour between when all the other kids left for school and preschool starting. She knew she could finally go to school and everyone else was at school so why wasn’t she. Luckily we survived and when I picked her up she said, “ That was the best day ever!”
Lucy got to practice volleyball with her team again too! She was so excited.

We got to help Grandma and Grandpa Richins again. We weren’t really that helpful this week but it was really got to be with them again. Paige fixed us an amazing all the toppings hamburger and hot dog dinner. It’s so fun to have her there.

Wednesday came and Beth and I got to visit with Ali, who stayed to go to a viewing after staying with Evelyn the night before. Evelyn’s social workers from hospice also made a visit. Jen is our regular one but she fell last fall and broke her ankle and Andrew filled in for her. Every now and then he comes back to visit because Evelyn is fun.
Lucy had a triple header of volleyball games. I got to go try and film/stream one. It was definitely a learning experience. It was nice to actually be in the gym and watch her and her team play.
Lilly had a master class for voice lessons but forgot to have someone film her. I will share one from a previous week tomorrow. When we got home this was on our door step.
School dances aren’t happening. One of the theater kids parents let the MDT kids do a home made homecoming in their backyard, so they could still have a homecoming dance.
Thursday came and with it crazy hair day at preschool. Beth and I even dropped in to visit Glen for a little bit. She loves being at the high school with Dad and Lilly.
We have started doing planks after family prayers, or at least most of us. Beth usually climbs all over us and makes it more of a challenge. It is one of the things the doctor said to do to help Lilly with her mild scoliosis.

Lilly answered Kaden for homecoming since it was the next night. She decided it had to stick with the Beauty and the Beast theme he ask with. We were brainstorming and Glen thought it would be cool to include Gaston. I started singing the part in his song where he is eating dozens of raw eggs to get strong. We rand with that idea and gave him 5 dozen eggs with Swedish fish in them. His favorite candy.
Friday dawned with Ruth and I staying with Evelyn and her early piano class. I ran around getting all the last minute details in place for Lilly to go on her date most of the day. A little more notice would have been nicer on me for this dance date. It all worked out and luckily I took this picture of them before they left because they had some communication issues with their group and missed pictures in the park.
Lucy had a diorama assignment for stage design and brought it to Evelyn’s to work on. Marian is a bit of a green thumb and had her floral arrangement stuff there to make a boutonniere for Lilly’s date. Marian has lots of fun helping Lucy make a scary jungle scene.
Saturday was conference and concrete. We lined up my dad and Joe to help us and poured almost all or our concrete curbing and the rest of the little pads we had to do. It’s so exciting!
We met the Richins side of the family at Texas Roadhouse for dinner to celebrate Larry’s 81st birthday! We were just missing Mikayla and Josh from our group.
After that the older girls and I went up to my mom’s to watch the Women’s session with cousins and sister-in-laws. Glen was a trooper and watch the boys so Jill and Ta could come and have a break.
Conference was so good. Just the boost of encouragement, reminder to be better and do good with a shot of love we needed.
