A few weeks in one

It’s been a few weeks. Life is moving right along. Let’s see what I can remember.
  • Lucy turned 14. She gets her own post!
  • Cousin sleep overs
  • My mom started the Grandma club for the older grand kids. I think they liked it.
  • We learned about camp fire eclairs. They are yummy and our new favorite treat.
  • Glen and Daryl put the fence and gate in on the east side of the yard.
  • The kids and Glen has fall break from school.
  • I have been doing a bunch of quilting.
  • School for me is good. It’s challenging and seems like one more thing at times. I am learning a lot and feel like I am getting some added help to make it and everything else happen. I enrolled in BYU-Pathway worldwide.
  • The weekly devotionals that go along with school seem to have just the message I need to hear each week.
  • Lucy had a good season of middle school league volleyball.
  • We bought John’s truck for a kid/third car.
  • Lilly went on a fun dance date. It took a lot of talking but she got to ask the kid, she really wanted to ask but then thought too much about and backed out.
  • The new Mandolorian came out! Glen and the kids are in heaven.
  • We watched Hunt for the Wilderpeople. It was really good and I don’t say that about many movies.
  • After having stuff to tie dye shirts on my laundry room counter for six years we finally did. It was even fun!
  • We had our first snow of the year. Luckily it melted and went away and warmed up some again.
  • Lucy and I made a quilt for her SBO coach for her baby that is due soon. All the other SBO’s went in on it too.  It’s not a baby size quilt so it should last awhile and mom and baby can snuggle in it.
Now for a few pictures.

I loved your update! The Hunt for the Wilderpeople is an awesome movie! I still sometimes sing the song about Ricky Baker in my head. And I love all your quilting. The one with the red crosses in the squares is particularly appealing to me. And I'm so proud of you for doing school along with all the other good things you do. That is a lot!

L is for the way...

I watched this video and it sealed the deal on this post. I have all sorts of things I could write about, but this has been at the front of my mind for a while. I have really been affected this past year by the divorces of two different couples I know. Not that, I haven't known any one before that has gotten divorced. These have just hit closer to home. One of them is Glen's boss, and Glen has worked with him lately. (This is not the norm. He can go months with out seeing him. He just goes in to work, sees what he's doing that night and goes out.) In working with him, they have talked about stuff and something he said to Glen has really made me think. I wasn't there but it was something to the extent of, "You guys are so lucky, because you love each other, just really love each other." My first thought to this was- yes, yes we do. Then I thought how sad that he and not every married couple have that. The just of all of this rambling is that I love my ...

My cup with blessings overflows

I am trying to get back in the habit of blogging. Before I go to bed, even though I should be in bed here are blessings from this week. I don’t know it I will remember them all there were so many.  Being home to attend church with our ward.  Talks from two sister in our ward, Louisa Jones who is a brand new young woman and Holly Draney who is the Primary President, on Sister Kristin Yee’s conference talk, that complimented each other well.  They reminded me that God is in the details and even when mistakes are made he can use it to help us learn and bless us. Louisa talked about how she was mad when her parents decided they should move a few years ago but Heavely Father has made it work out. Holly brought up the definitions of the words possibility and joy. She also talked about repairing quilts that had things happen to them. Also a talk from Matt Reeves about the power of the priesthood and how it has blessed his life and has preserved his life.  A great less...

Head to the hills- July 7-14

Good things from this week were- Getting dirt to fill the planter box Daryl made for Grandpa Richins. It’s ready for him to use now!  Getting ready for girls camp. Watching Lucy play volleyball in a tournament at UVU with high school team girls. It’s crazy that is her last one as a high school player.  Eating dinner on the roof and watching the sunset. Girls camp, even the one bad part.  Showering after girls camp Sunday dinner at Larry and Janene's and playing with the whip These cool plants were at the nursery we got soil from. I think I might want some in my yard.  Lucy played in a volleyball tournament at UVU with the high school team.  Lucy thought eating on the roof would be a good idea one night so we could watch the sunset better. She was right. Though Ruth but mostly Beth got pretty comfortable exploring up there. My mom safety barometer went quite high till they got down.  The Oquirrh Mountain temple fit right between the trees for a perfect view....
