There can be miracles

This week seemed like a normal busy week. Upon further inspection there were a lot of good things going on and little or big miracles.

Sunday my mom and two of her sisters went away for a few days. We are always trying to get her to take a break so it was wonderful she did.

Monday was the last night of Lilly's MDT review. It was even better than the first night. Lucy kindly watched the younger kids so I could go with Glen. It was great to be able to sit and enjoy all of the work those kids put in to the performance.

A couple other things that were cool about that night are- Mr. Jasperson, that choreographed one of the numbers came to watch and talked to the kids a little before and after the show. The other thing is one of the parents recorded the show and shared the Youtube link.
Here is a list of the numbers and minute marks she is in, to save you time.
Opening number- she has gold pants on,
song #2- 3:37-How I Saved Roosevelt from Assassin- some solo parts,
song #4-11:33- Six months out of Every year from Damn Yankees- center back row with arms up at the beginning,
song#7-26:05- Sing from A Chorus Line- in chorus line,
song #8-28:45 Prologue from Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812-she comes on stage at 31:35,
Song #10-38:11-Predator from Jagged Little Pill- middle row right side of stage,
song#11-42:59- Our Time from Merrily We Roll Along- small solo near beginning of song,
song#14- 56:44-Haunted Heart from The Addams Family film- she is in a knee length black dress usually near the back- This is the song Thayne Jasperson choreographed
song #16-1:04:40- Fearless from Mean girls- center right on stage with brighter pink cardigan,
song#20-1:21:34- Wait For Me from Hadestown- in ensemble,
song #21-1:31:00- Go the Distance/ Seize the Day a Disney Mashup- ensemble
song #23-1:38:09- Freak Flag from Sherk- small solo near beginning of song as Mama Bear,
Last song-1:49:18- When You Believe from Prince of Egypt- in ensemble

a poor quality picture of most of the kids with Mr. Jasperson in the blue medical mask.

Ali came and stayed with Evelyn Monday night and part of Tuesday. She even did make up on Ellie and Beth which is one of their favorite things ever.

Beth loves Prince our outdoor cat. He tolerates her.

Joe stayed with Evelyn Tuesday night to help out and checked the cameras before I went to bed at 11:15 and they were sitting up talking at the table. It was fun to see them having that time together.

Tuesday Beth insisted on wearing curlers in her hair to school. It was rather funny.

Wednesday, Marian stayed with Evelyn and let me go work on a quilt my mom pieces and had me quilt for Evelyn’s bed.I am really happy with how it turned out.

Ruth and Beth got to climb the rope at gymnastics. They ask every day if they get to go back for class.

This is Ruth on the rope.

Thursday Ruth and I started our classes. I think they will be helpful now Ruth knows the train goes by the school the classes are at and makes it fell like there is an earthquake. It was a bit scary the first time.

Friday and Saturday had lots of cousin time while Jill was away. I stayed with Evelyn Friday night and then basically all of Saturday, as my mom and dad had Jed’s and Jill’s  kids.

Glen and my kids were troopers at home with out me. They did the Saturday jobs and took a load of stuff to DI and sold other stuff. It’s so nice to have less stuff.

The best thing of the week happen to day. Jill came back and brought Jed with her!!!  They surprised the kids with his early return and they were definitely surprised. There is a sweet relief to have him back home.

My mom and Jed share a birthday on Tuesday so we also celebrated that as well!  The people putting candles on the cheesecake might have gotten carried away. :) When you try to get for every year of two people both over 40 it is a lot.

We are all around each other enough that we have decided not to wear masks.

One giant advantage to having had COVID rip through your household: loosening up with family get togethers! I am jealous. Alan has been vaccinated, but we are still being pretty careful because the rest of us aren't. I love that you put in time markers so we can jump to the important parts of the performance! And yes, our little ones are pretty similar people. Hopefully we can get them together maybe this summer. Thank you for sharing your life with me this way. I love it.

Your whole family pulls together to take such great care of Evelyn. The quote you made for her is a masterpiece and the best part is the genuine love. The colour choices so appealing, too. Having Jed come back from deployment must have made the entire family shiny and bright. We have a little experience with that and it makes an enormous difference.

The quilt, not the quote. Sheesh.

L is for the way...

I watched this video and it sealed the deal on this post. I have all sorts of things I could write about, but this has been at the front of my mind for a while. I have really been affected this past year by the divorces of two different couples I know. Not that, I haven't known any one before that has gotten divorced. These have just hit closer to home. One of them is Glen's boss, and Glen has worked with him lately. (This is not the norm. He can go months with out seeing him. He just goes in to work, sees what he's doing that night and goes out.) In working with him, they have talked about stuff and something he said to Glen has really made me think. I wasn't there but it was something to the extent of, "You guys are so lucky, because you love each other, just really love each other." My first thought to this was- yes, yes we do. Then I thought how sad that he and not every married couple have that. The just of all of this rambling is that I love my ...

My cup with blessings overflows

I am trying to get back in the habit of blogging. Before I go to bed, even though I should be in bed here are blessings from this week. I don’t know it I will remember them all there were so many.  Being home to attend church with our ward.  Talks from two sister in our ward, Louisa Jones who is a brand new young woman and Holly Draney who is the Primary President, on Sister Kristin Yee’s conference talk, that complimented each other well.  They reminded me that God is in the details and even when mistakes are made he can use it to help us learn and bless us. Louisa talked about how she was mad when her parents decided they should move a few years ago but Heavely Father has made it work out. Holly brought up the definitions of the words possibility and joy. She also talked about repairing quilts that had things happen to them. Also a talk from Matt Reeves about the power of the priesthood and how it has blessed his life and has preserved his life.  A great less...

Head to the hills- July 7-14

Good things from this week were- Getting dirt to fill the planter box Daryl made for Grandpa Richins. It’s ready for him to use now!  Getting ready for girls camp. Watching Lucy play volleyball in a tournament at UVU with high school team girls. It’s crazy that is her last one as a high school player.  Eating dinner on the roof and watching the sunset. Girls camp, even the one bad part.  Showering after girls camp Sunday dinner at Larry and Janene's and playing with the whip These cool plants were at the nursery we got soil from. I think I might want some in my yard.  Lucy played in a volleyball tournament at UVU with the high school team.  Lucy thought eating on the roof would be a good idea one night so we could watch the sunset better. She was right. Though Ruth but mostly Beth got pretty comfortable exploring up there. My mom safety barometer went quite high till they got down.  The Oquirrh Mountain temple fit right between the trees for a perfect view....
