February already

What is there to write about this week? I am not quite sure.
I had a whole post written on my computer and I thought published. Then I went in on my phone to add more pictures and it made it all disappear. :(  I’ll see if I can remember what I wrote. First I’ll explain the pictures.
This is the gate that Glen made. He was testing it. He is changing the hinges and then painting it. He’s great!
Theater 3 just finished their makeup unit. The last thing they do is gore/wound makeup. They always come down to the office to get help for their “injuries” from the secretaries or office staff with the least experience.
Above is Lilly and her friend Avery.
 It was pretty convincing.

Goob turned 3 years old. He’s been a great addition to our clan.
Lucy’s volleyball team won gold in their first tournament of the year. Only one parent could go to the tournament to stream it and they chose Facebook to stream it on so we didn’t see it. Lucy said she had a great serving run in the first set of the gold medal match. She got the ball when it was 1-0 for her team and the other team got it back when it was 18-1.
Evelyn’s fridge frozen some of the veggies in our veggie tray this week. Beth peeled the shell off this pea pod and we thought it looked pretty cool.
Evelyn’s not chewing much these days. Usually she wants something that will “just go down easy.” Sugar in various forms like wafer cookies, chocolates or fudge are the exception. She got some fudge for her birthday from Janene. It finally was eaten down to a point we could put it in the candy jar and Evelyn offered to eat all the crumbs for breakfast. Breakfast of champions.

The Daryl and Ruth could have Valentine’s parties at school but everything had to be there early to quarantine for a few days. The only perk is that Valentine’s are done. Daryl’s is the car one-“I am glad we are friends . you are ‘axle’utely amazing, and Ruth and Beth are giving the kazoos- “I am glad we are friends. Kazoo are amazing.” I think other parents are not going to be happy with the kazoos. Oops.
Sunday I went up and visited Evelyn and we did our FaceTime call with Aunt Melodee. It’s always fun to visit with her and it lets her see how Evelyn is doing as well.
After that Evelyn and I went in the front room to visit for a little bit because “the seats are softer.” Evelyn gave me a run down of what she wants for her funeral. I didn’t get it recorded but videoed the recap I did. It was pretty funny. She is a silly lady. (I don’t know if the video will actually show up, my blog has had issues with videos lately.)

Other good things from this week were-

We finished listening to all the Harry Potter books with Ruth. They are good but I am ready for a break.

Lilly was cast as Patchy the Pirate in Sponge Bob the Musical that her MDT class is performing this spring. She gets to sing this song.

We had a fun Super Bowl gathering with Jed’s family and Glen’s parents. No pictures of it and the wrong team won. Darn. It was fun to get together though.

Ruth had her cousin play date reward for perfect piano practice. We had just Anna and Logan over. It was a lot of fun. I think because we usually have a lot more than two cousins over how fun smaller numbers can be.

After months of hassle for Paige and John, the right papers showing up in our mailbox and email in box, a quick stop at an auto mechanic’s shop for an emissions test by me and an appointment at the DMV by Glen, the Tacoma is officially ours.  It is yet to be seen if Glen will actually let it be a kid vehicle.

I looked for very long time at that picture of Lilly and decided that she's not really hurt because that person next to her also has a cut.

You might not have much to say, but your pictures sure do!! Those crazy made-up faces made me hurt! Someone is really getting skilled. I have definitely had cold sores that looked like that (poor me!) Daryl's valentines were adorable and looked like they required a lot of thought and work on your part! You're amazing. Ah, life still goes on. Even if it is socially distant.

The wounds! Write about the wounds! They look like they are probably makeup, judging by the joy on those faces, but man they are good. Also, I needed a few captions. Was that peas in an ice pod? And what is Evelyn doing?

L is for the way...

I watched this video and it sealed the deal on this post. I have all sorts of things I could write about, but this has been at the front of my mind for a while. I have really been affected this past year by the divorces of two different couples I know. Not that, I haven't known any one before that has gotten divorced. These have just hit closer to home. One of them is Glen's boss, and Glen has worked with him lately. (This is not the norm. He can go months with out seeing him. He just goes in to work, sees what he's doing that night and goes out.) In working with him, they have talked about stuff and something he said to Glen has really made me think. I wasn't there but it was something to the extent of, "You guys are so lucky, because you love each other, just really love each other." My first thought to this was- yes, yes we do. Then I thought how sad that he and not every married couple have that. The just of all of this rambling is that I love my ...

My cup with blessings overflows

I am trying to get back in the habit of blogging. Before I go to bed, even though I should be in bed here are blessings from this week. I don’t know it I will remember them all there were so many.  Being home to attend church with our ward.  Talks from two sister in our ward, Louisa Jones who is a brand new young woman and Holly Draney who is the Primary President, on Sister Kristin Yee’s conference talk, that complimented each other well.  They reminded me that God is in the details and even when mistakes are made he can use it to help us learn and bless us. Louisa talked about how she was mad when her parents decided they should move a few years ago but Heavely Father has made it work out. Holly brought up the definitions of the words possibility and joy. She also talked about repairing quilts that had things happen to them. Also a talk from Matt Reeves about the power of the priesthood and how it has blessed his life and has preserved his life.  A great less...

Head to the hills- July 7-14

Good things from this week were- Getting dirt to fill the planter box Daryl made for Grandpa Richins. It’s ready for him to use now!  Getting ready for girls camp. Watching Lucy play volleyball in a tournament at UVU with high school team girls. It’s crazy that is her last one as a high school player.  Eating dinner on the roof and watching the sunset. Girls camp, even the one bad part.  Showering after girls camp Sunday dinner at Larry and Janene's and playing with the whip These cool plants were at the nursery we got soil from. I think I might want some in my yard.  Lucy played in a volleyball tournament at UVU with the high school team.  Lucy thought eating on the roof would be a good idea one night so we could watch the sunset better. She was right. Though Ruth but mostly Beth got pretty comfortable exploring up there. My mom safety barometer went quite high till they got down.  The Oquirrh Mountain temple fit right between the trees for a perfect view....
