The biggest event of the week was Beth’s baptism. It’s crazy to think that all my kids have passed this milestone. It took Beth awhile to decide to be baptized and I worried about that some. I really wanted it to be her choice so we talked about her concerns and questions and practiced patience.
It worked out wonderfully. Had she been baptized right after she turned 8 my dad would have missed being apart of it. He was still in the hospital the first weekend of November.
Beth asked Grandpa Richins and Grandma Egbert to say prayers. Lilly talked on baptism and Lucy on the Holy Ghost. Daryl and Ruth were the witnesses. I lead the music which was Gesthmne, and I Will Walk With Jesus. Glen baptized and confirmed her. Glen, Grandpa Richins, Grandpa Egbert, Brother Draney and Brother Bowers were in the circle for her confirmation.
Sister Van Wagoner her primary teacher from last year hugging Beth.
One of Beth’s worries was having too many people looking at her. I had to convince her that it would be okay to invite aunts, uncles and cousins because not all of them would be able to make it. I had to do that partly because I had already invited them. Oops.
That worked out as well. In attendance was our family, her four grandparents, Julie, Lincoln, Clara, Anna, TaLyn (She represented Jed’s family because weather prevented more of them coming down), Brother Draney from the bishopric, Sister Bowers, the Primary President and Brother Bowers who graciously offered to play the piano for us and come with his wife.
I have more pictures of the event but they are on the film and digital SRL camera so I will have to add them later.
Other happenings from this week that are worth noting are-
Lucy started track practice. Her friends talked her in to it. It will be a test of her management and juggling skills. School, club volleyball, track and field, boy’s volleyball team manager, and work.
I did my two other clinicals for my CNA class. One of them was a The Inn Between, which is a place for homeless people who need medical services like cancer treatment or hospice to stay so they have an address to qualify for those services. The other was at the same skilled nursing facility I did my first clinical. It was a much better experience.
We got to see Lilly several times this week. She interviewed Glen for a school project, was at the baptism, and came up for Sunday dinner.
She just had her last shift at the movie theater and is playing rugby on the UVU club team for women.
Our young women’s activity was swimming this week and it was fun to hang out and swim/playin the water with the girls that made it.
On February 29, my mom’s dad, Grandpa Bodell, would have been 25 or 100. Whoever could make it on my mom’s side of the family got together at my cousin Cheryl’s house for dinner and banana splits, which he liked. My mom and Aunts shared some memories of him.
Glen and I went on a date to a wedding reception for a family in our ward, the Knight’s daughter, Shantel.
Greg helped Glen propose to me by pulling us over. It brought back memories of that and our wedding which seems like not long ago but was according to the calendar.
Beth and Ruth helped me get the book fair set up on Friday for this next week. I was a lot for them so I got them ice cream cones after for sticking with it.
Ruth graduated from DARE. I didn’t go to any of the other kids DARE graduations but happened to be in the building that day. I never knew it was such a big deal or heard the DARE song.
Crazy hair day was this week. We don’t do anything too crazy but do try to do something. Beth had to have distractions while I worked on her crazy hair.

I like the idea of you having classes. Everybody should have a class.
