The rest of Christmas

Christmas was not to big this year, because Grandma Janene and Grandpa Larry took the whole family, both kids with all their kids, to Disneyland right after it!
We became bugs! This really scared Lilly( we may have forgotten about the very large spiders that come down from the ceiling at one point and Lilly's apparent real fear of spiders. oops.)
She recovered luckily and we all flew on the only flying elephant we know!
Lilly, Lucy, Colton, Topher and I canoed the river to see the sights with Davey Crockett. This time I scared Colton, he didn't want to go on a big waterfall. No Splash Mountain for him. He did smile at one point on the river run!
We watched the parade with lots of life size Christmas treats, and all sorts of characters and dancing royalty!
Some of us even rode on royal steads, but all of us got wet!


We came from a land of snow and ice to a land where they have fake snow and dress like it could be subzero out side; when it is really in the mid forties. 65 degree weather for two days was really nice! There were these great fireworks. They were beautiful and very loud and the girls did this
through all of them! Lilly did take a really deep breath at one point!

And finally we got a requested picture with a very large mouse! Lucy's face shows what mom and dad where feeling! She was excited until we got in the room with Mickey and then death grip came on and the family picture ensued. It was fun but we won't be back for a long time!
Other lessons learned where- the nice hotel room was worth it because the girls were never in a hurry to get to the parks.
-spending your Christmas vacation with 70,000 other people is not really our idea of fun! Lots of other people go to Disneyland between Christmas and New Years. We won't ever be there again at that time.
-We aren't going back until everyone is tall enough to ride on ALL of the rides.

Sounds like a marathon! You have saintly in-laws to take the whole family for that much fun. That sleeping picture of Lucy looks so much like pictures I have seen of my Aunt Janene (when she was a kid) to me! Holy cow!

July 15-19  Early Monday morning we went to the Provo airport to head to John Wayne airport then down to San Diego to celebrate Larry and Janene's 50th wedding anniversary. We met up with everyone but Josh and his girlfriend, Amberlee in Provo. They left earlier and drove so they could visit her family as well. My dad is a bit John Wayne fan so we had to take a picture with The Duke at his airport for him.  Once we had our luggage, rental van and food in our bellies we had to get sand between our toes and salt water at least on our feet. We ate at a fun little place in San Clemente called Cafe Rae. It was really little. Our group of nine took up about half their seats. It was really good food and they had great hospitality.  Our next stop was the USS Midway in San Diego. Larry had talked about visiting this and the Saint Mary for a long time. My cup with blessings overflows

 I am trying to get back in the habit of blogging. Before I go to bed, even though I should be in bed here are blessings from this week. I don’t know it I will remember them all there were so many.  Being home to attend church with our ward.  Talks from two sister in our ward, Louisa Jones who is a brand new young woman and Holly Draney who is the Primary President, on Sister Kristin Yee’s conference talk, that complimented each other well.  They reminded me that God is in the details and even when mistakes are made he can use it to help us learn and bless us. Louisa talked about how she was mad when her parents decided they should move a few years ago but Heavely Father has made it work out. Holly brought up the definitions of the words possibility and joy. She also talked about repairing quilts that had things happen to them. Also a talk from Matt Reeves about the power of the priesthood and how it has blessed his life and has preserved his life.  A great less...
