Richins

 March 4-10- Things to be grateful for this week-  Marian, Ali, and Jed taking care of Dad while Mom went to Bryce Canyon for a quilt retreat with her sisters and friends.  People signing up and showing up to help with book fair. Fitting in a visit to Barbra between book fair sales times.  Celebrating Janene’s birthday and seeing Janae, Josh and Amberlee, Josh’s girlfriend, at  Texas Roadhouse. We also saw Kaden Neilson with friends there but didn’t bug him.  Having a very supportive school community that makes the book fair so much better than I ever imagine.  Seeing Lucy a little bit before her volleyball tournament in Colorado.  Having Lucy come home injury free from her tournament; a team mate and her coach’s daughter did not. :(  Help from Larry to get kids places they needed to be while I was running the book fair after school.  Getting back to back dates with Glen!  Going on a double date with Matt and Stephaine Reeves to Tos...

The biggest event of the week was Beth’s baptism. It’s crazy to think that all my kids have passed this milestone. It took Beth awhile to decide to be baptized and I worried about that some. I really wanted it to be her choice so we talked about her concerns and questions and practiced patience.  It worked out wonderfully. Had she been baptized right after she turned 8 my dad would have missed being apart of it. He was still in the hospital the first weekend of November.  Beth asked Grandpa Richins and Grandma Egbert to say prayers. Lilly talked on baptism and Lucy on the Holy Ghost. Daryl and Ruth were the witnesses. I lead the music which was Gesthmne, and I Will Walk With Jesus. Glen baptized and confirmed her. Glen, Grandpa Richins, Grandpa Egbert, Brother Draney and Brother Bowers were in the circle for her confirmation.  Sister Van Wagoner her primary teacher from last year hugging Beth.  One of Beth’s worries was having too many people looking at her. A run down of the week-  Monday was President’s day thus a day off of school. Glen, Daryl, Ruth and Beth enjoyed going out to lunch with Grandma and Grandpa Richins, running some errands. Lucy was still in Arizona playing volleyball and Lilly was driving home from Arizona.  I did my first clinical day to get my CNA certificate.  It was an adventure. It made me wish I knew Spanish and helped me realize I have stronger opinions on caregiving than I thought. All those years with Evelyn and Roberta were valuable in multiple ways.  Tuesday was a day of picking up for me. I picked up filing cabinets Glen had bought on public surplus. That usually turns in to an adventure for me and this was no different. I am grateful for help loading, a moving dolly being available and a police officer walking by and being willing to assist at just the right time. The best thing I got to pick up was Lucy.
