I am pretty sure I never posted about Roberta turning 100 last year. oops. Roberta at 100 June 3, 2016 June 3rd will make her 101. Roberta looking through the paper and Evelyn napping May 24,2014 I don't think Roberta will be with us earth side much longer. She seems half the size of what she was last year and that wasn't a lot. She currently has pneumonia which we are treating as well as we can. When she is awake and with it she still loves to make my sister's baby smile and have the little kids around a bit. I have been some what teasing that I thought she was trying to be the longest living Crane. Her cousin Rachel lived to be 101 and 5 1/2 months. A body can only take so much and with the warm and cold and then warm spring we have had the sniffles some of us had, have become a lot more than that for our dear, Roberta.  It's a hard spot to come too finally. Lucy got to participate in the school STEM fair. She had some ideas for her project having to do with sling shotting fruit, measuring the distance it traveled and what not. I didn't jump on board with that idea because I thought there would be too many variables.  This made it so we procrastinated the project a little bit.  For her  birthday Lucy got the material and pattern to make a quilt for her new bed, (the one she doesn't have yet. oops.) She had been sewing and sewing for months and was so close to being done with the quilt top. I read through  the project directions for the fair a few times more and mentioned to her that I thought we could turn a sewing project in to a math or engineering project for her. We started an engineering project for a crayon bag she wants to make but after spending a day or two on that we decided we didn't have enough time to finish it properly and jumped to the quilt project. Bethany is busy. She loves to climb, wear shoes- especially if they are ones other people want to be wearing, playing in water, eating sand, trying to be big like Daryl and Ruth. She also love to be on the tables or counter tops. I think this is my doing. When my arms get tired of holding her or packing her around or I need to use both hands for something I set her down. The closest place that makes her the happiest is the counter, so that is usually where she lands. The floor generally makes her mad, but because of this she likes to be on tables and counters much more than she should. Her favorite thing to do during family prayer is to go around exposing the gap between everyone's pants and shirts while kneeling down and blow raspberries on their lower back. It makes it a little harder to be reverent during prayers when that is happening. Ruth is four. It is so nice because "It's hard being three," as she would say. Four gets her so much closer to being at the high school preschool and eventually kindergarten, which is where she wants to be so badly because it's where Daryl is. At four Ruth loves Moana and can sing all of the songs, though she saw the new Beauty and the Beast and that is winning out more and more. She really likes "The Lion Guard" tv show on Disney Jr. and all things related to that. She loves hair. She has developed this habit of stroking/playing with her hair and other people's hair. it drives her sisters nuts. To be honest I can only take so much of it. It is a total comfort self calming thing so I am trying to figure out something for her to replace it with. Her favorite foods are macaroni and cheese, tortillas usually plain no cheese or anything on them, nachos, strawberries, apples, and warm milk. The heated milk is almost like coffee to her.
