Streaks of sun through darkness

It’s been a heavy week.  It started out nicely with Glen being on the news for some of the good he is doing at his school. It was definitely not because he promoted it. Here is the short segment.  He also was interviewed by a different news channel for a short radio segment because of the first interview.  It is way more spotlight than he likes.  Next was parent teacher conferences for high school and middle school. I helped with the dinner for the teachers at the high school and met with Lucy’s teachers. I am so thankful for them and the good they do for her and all the other kids in the school. Later in the week I met with some of Daryl’s teachers, just the few I hadn’t met. They are doing great things as well.  Tuesday night there was also a combined youth activity. The goal was to heart attack five houses in our ward. It was an adventure. It all happened but I decided that kind of activity needs to be carried out in a different way with the group of y...

On the mend and on the mind - 2/5-2/11

The week started off a bit rough. Beth had pink eye, Ruth had a lingering cold and Daryl came down with a stomach bug. Lucy getting the quilt top done for a baby blanket for one of her favorite teachers. A date with Glen out to eat and then strolling around Lowe’s getting a few things for the house since we ...

One foot in front of the other- 1/22-1/28

The good from this week looked like-  Me having time at home to work on projects. Not necessarily house work but other projects that could actually get finished.  And after so many years going and doing so much away from home wanting to be home and the chance to be home feels like a gift. Having an unexpected scheduling conflict with our youth activity and another ward’s activity work out. Plus people stepping up to help get things set up and ready in the shortened amount of time we had because of switching rooms.  Getting to go on a date with Glen even though our friends we were going to double with cancel rather last minute. We went to the Greek restaurant, Santorini’s. It was good. TaLyn showed up on Friday at our house. Lucy and her proceeded to execute operation room transformation. TaLyn is working on a certificate in interior design from Ensign college. They have been planning for weeks and it was fun to see them pull it together. Sacrament meeting scribbles ...
