…And school comes along just to end it

This was our last week of summer.  We tried to do a lot of things to live it up the best we could.   We tried to do some fun things.  We tried to get in as many sleepovers with cousins, aunts and grandparents as possible.  We tried to enjoy a whole evening and morning with kids all at sleep overs. It was a wonderful rare treat!  We tried to worked a lot or at least as much as we are suppose too. Mostly Glen and Lilly and me.  We tried to do things to get us ready for school. We tried to shop with out falling apart.  We tried to spend a lot of time with cousins.  We tried to swim a lot. That means the kids not me.  We tried to explore a new park. It was fun and wet.  We tried to enjoy seeing the mountains and sky for a few days when the smoke left. We tried to enjoy the puppies that were left at Grandma’s for puppy sitting.  We tried to cheer loud at Lucy’s first volleyball game.  We tried to cheer on teachers and hel...

Smoke covered mountains

This week was kind of hazy both in what we did and where we lived. We have been dealing with thick smoke in the air from the wild fires states away. It’s rather sad to not be able to see any of the beautiful mountains around us, blue sky or clouds. The South and Oquirrh mountains that are so close have been barely visible.     Here are the good things about the week-  Lucy tried out for and made the sophomore volleyball team. Lilly got a job at a place a bunch of her friends work and has promise for being flexible with her schedule.  Meeting at a park and playing and visiting for Logan’s birthday.  Joe surprising Ellie, Beth and Ridge by climbing the pyramid to answer their calls for him to “come get us.” A good counseling session that gave me hope for answers and solutions.  A wedding reception for my cousin’s daughter. They were finally able to come to Utah from Canada to celebrate with family here.  Seeing the sun rise on a clear day before the...

Well, the auctioneer was goin' 'bout a mile a minute

Here is a lot of what we did this week and the abundance of  good involved in them- Lucy went to volleyball camp at BYU. She was in volleyball heaven. We had the Kalbes’s come over for dinner Monday night. It’s been too long since we spent time with them. It was fun.  Glen got the motorhome sold for Larry and Janene. It was perfect timing, since his schedule is about to get a busier.  I took five of our goats to auction, after having them for sale on line for about a month. They sold quickly and for a lot more than we had them advertised online. Lilly went to Girls camp.  Ruth had her first appointment to get pictures for her orthodontic gear. Glen got to go out to lunch with a friend from high school and catch up after not seeing him for a couple years. Aunt Melodee, Uncle John and Sarah arrived at Evelyn’s to visit for a few days on their cross country visiting tour.  Lucy got done with volleyball camp, came home to rearrange clothes and left for girl’s camp. ...

In these small hours

Wow, what a week. It was full in the best kinds of ways. There was all kinds of regular stuff and a bunch of not regular stuff that was like icing on the cake. Monday was Janae’s birthday. Glen and the older girls celebrated with her on Tuesday by going out to see the Black Widow movie. Lilly also started Ag camp. That’s a deceiving name because it was four days of  learning basics for her Vet Assisting class she will be taking the last part of her senior year. They did observed surgery’s two days and had two days of classroom instruction where the teacher’s dog and kittens roam around. She really liked it.  The best part of Monday was meeting at Creekside park in Alpine for a picnic dinner and visiting with the Wimmers plus more-including Willa and Wyatt, Mariah and Buddy Keller, M’Li, Uncle Fred and Marj, Azya Ladd and Larry and Janene. I have no pictures, you’ll have to refer to Heather’s blog. It was so great.  Buddy is the cutest thing ever and so happy. He has the m...
