Some things...

I love my job of helping my adopted grandmas, but some days I just don't understand their thinking. Today was one of those days. They have these funny little quarks about things that boggle my mind. The thing today was the water heater. It hadn't been working for two and a half days. If I hadn't tried to rinse the wash rag out with warm water it may have been longer, like the end of the week when my parents get moved in. I will explain. My parents are working on moving in to"the cottage" behind Evelyn and Roberta's house. My dad had to turn off there gas on Friday to hook up the gas line to his house. When he was done he came in and lit the pilot light for their water heater. It worked until sometime mid Saturday and then went out. That meant that Roberta who takes her bath in the morning had warm or hot water, but Evelyn had to heat up water on the stove to have a warm bath that night. Not to mention any dishes she did she would have heated water on the sto...

For my mother-in-law

Daryl is starting to really smile and today I got this picture. My mother-in-law told me,"Make sure you post it on your blog, so I can steal it!" So, Janene her it is for your stealing pleasure!

Success

Today was a bad day to be a varmint, if you were in the general vicinity of Glen. He got four mice with his strategic placement of our traps and bagged a skunk! We are up to ten mice since Sunday. I don't remember how many skunks have gone to meet their maker but it has been a while and this is the first one Glen or I have gotten! This is okay with me because after helping take care of the body; it is nicer to just hear the news that it's dead. For the record it was a different gun he shot than what we had been trying to get them with. Whatever way they go, success is sweet!

Reinforcements

Grow, Daryl, grow! Dad needs help with these wild girls!

Good Strollers

Today is the third time this has happened. It's been funny to watch. The first time it happened Glen had let them out and even tried to shoo the hen away to where the others were, but she was persistent. This is what he found in the stroller later. The next time Lucy, Daryl and I had gone for a walk and I let the chickens out and hadn't even gotten Daryl out of the stroller when she did it again. And today it happened as well. After our walk I let the chickens out and low and behold an egg in the stroller. Luckily I did have Daryl out or else she would have laid an egg right on him. This funny bird seems to go to whatever stroller we have used most recently. She does lay in the nesting boxes in the coop on days we don't let them out, but I guess she prefers our strollers.

A month

At one month our little boy has no shortage of feminane attention, (thus the flower on his head) and we are sure glad he is here. Where did the month go?

official declaration of WAR

To: the mice that have invaded my house This is your official eviction notice. Leave now! I know the weather is changing and turning cold but I don't want you in my house. Dig a whole in the ground and hibernate, or something. I really don't care but please leave. I am giving you this warning because I have just bought well over 50 mouse traps and I intend to set everyone of them up if you don't get out. I will find you and go to where you are, so leave now while you are still alive. These are not the nice catch alive traps; I will take no prisoners of war only dead bodies. Thank you, Kayci

Buddies

Last night I was helping my mom get ready for her moving sale much later than was good for my kids.I just had two of them because Lilly was having a sleep over with the Cranes'. They crashed. Daryl first with the help of a full belly. I put him on my parents beanbag. (yes, I know he's not suppose to go on things like that.) Not long after that Lucy came and ask for a blanket. After a while I went to check on her and found this! I love that Lucy loves her brother so much! I hope it stays that way.

Growing

It's a week late, so he's bigger now but at two weeks Daryl was 21.5 inches, and 9lbs.2oz. He was able to put back on any weight he had lost and grow an inch in under two weeks. How fast they change. The top picture is last week and the bottom was today at three weeks.

A Betting Woman

I know this isn't what you readers of this blog are looking for right now. You want to see pictures of my cute baby. (or that would be my guess.) But the game is going on right now and I had not really put everything together before I started watching it. Glen and I usually have this standing bet for ice cream when BYU and Utah State play each other in football. We get ice cream at the winning school's creamery. Well last year I wanted a trip to Logan and the odds are hardly ever in favor of USU so I said if the Y won we got USU ice cream to help console the loosers. Well the game is on! USU is doing better this year than they have done in a long time with a record of 1-3. BYU is having a "rebuilding year" and has a record of 1-3. I didn't put this all together, like I said until just now. I have to say that things are looking quite good for the Aggies! They are winning with 11:30 left in the 2nd quarter! It's 10-0 for the Aggies! We may be going to Provo for ...
