Not his idea

This was my dad's idea, but NOT my husband's. He may not be claiming my side of the family for a while, because of his disappointment in them for actually doing something red. I just hope someone buys it at the Festival of Trees ! Though Glen my not have my family rooting the way he wants he certainly has our oldest. This was a conversation from eariler tonight at our friends house with Glen and the girls- Lucy- wining but standing by a toy snake Glen- (trying to get Lucy to stop)" Lucy, I don't want to scare you, but... there is a snake right by you!" Lucy- sort of stops wining Lilly- "Dad, I don't want to scare you but, ... I'm a Ute fan!" Glen- "What?!" Lilly-" Just kidding!"

Thanksgiving

I wrote about wanting to be thankful in my last post. I don't think it would be quite complete if I didn't jot down a few of the things I am thankful for, and if you are having trouble here is a little video to help you. So with out further a due, here are a few of the things I am thankful for- my family- The one my husband and I have made, the one I have come from and the one I married in too. They are all super and I need to do a better job of really enjoying them and the people in them for who they are and what they add to my life. my husband- He is a good man, hard worker, fun, passionate, patient, kind, devoted and much more aside from being handsome. my church the seasons and living in a place where I get to enjoy all of them. a house to live in cars to drive that work well my body- though it isn't in the shape I would like it to be in it has done amazing things this last year. health- my whole little family enjoys it. good music our dogs and chickens and even the k...

Not yet

It snowed. Just like they said it would. A lot. More. Though. We now look like a winter wonderland. It's not winter though. There is still a month of actual fall left and still a holiday to celebrate before "the BIG one." You know Christmas, I don't want to mention it to much because everyone else already does. In fact lots of people already have their lights up and on their house and yard decorations out. Which is fine but I wish they wouldn't turn them on yet. No, not yet, because I'd like to enjoy fall a few more days and be thankful. Even if my crunchy leaves are covered up with a foot of snow, I want to be thankful this month. Not rushed and hurried to buy, buy, buy, though that isn't the reason for that holiday either. Oh, how I dislike commercialism and the super early marketing of all things Christmas related . While I am on the marketing thing though let me plug my brothers business. If you are in the area and want to hit the slopes visit his si...

This one goes out to...

the dogs. It has been on my to do list to post about the dogs on my side of the family. I would post about all of the dogs from both sides of the family but I don't have pictures of two of them so it's one sided. Some might not call them all dogs but "small horses." Ours are the first two, Kuka and Neve. Boxers. Next we have Zoe, a healer/lab mix, and Nitra, a great horse, no I mean Great Dane. They are sister A's dogs. Now we come to Charlie. My Mom's dog, a Newfoundland, or the other horse. Now w e come to Edgar. He's a German Shepard that is sister M's. And now the real reason for this post is Beatrix, an English bulldog. She is sister M's now too. She's a little small for the group but oh, so cute. I am a bit jealous of my sister because Glen and I have talked about getting a dog like this, but we can't have three dogs. Something has to happen to one or both of our dogs before we can get another one. Besides we just got cats(that sto...

On Veterans Day

On this Veterans Day, let me recommend the above movie. If you decide to watch it make sure you have time to watch the whole thing because you won't be able to turn it off.It is very well done and makes you think. It may even make you cry, or at least get a little teary eyed. It will hopefully also help you be more grateful for the veterans, soldiers, and military personnel that help keep our country free and let us enjoy all the great things we do. Thank you veterans for your service and sacrifice.

Worth every penny !

We had family pictures taken a couple of weeks ago. I didn't want to do the same thing with Daryl that I did with Lucy, which was not have a family picture till she was 18months. It was a little stressful getting ready for but worth it, because I LOVE them! They were defiantly worth every penny. Above is a sampling but not all of my favorites or even the best ones. I am being mean and saving them for later.

eyebrows and enemy

How many eyebrows does a girl need? I don't know. Almost anytime Lucy goes to the bathroom at Evelyn and Roberta's she comes out with a few drawn on ones. I better learn more about makeup because I am betting that just mascara (like I wear.) won't do for her. This is what Lilly looked like this morning as she headed to school. She has on a pink shirt under the sweater too. While you may think that is her favorite color, this was our conversation- Lilly- " Mom, don't forget that right after school we HAVE to go get a swimming cap for me." Mom- " Lilly, you have your day today so I'll have to get it with out you." Lilly- "Okay, but make sure it is blue. All blue. I don't want any pink on it at all." Mom- "Alright, I can do that, but why no pink." Lilly- " I hate pink. It's like my enemy!" Mom-"Why are you wearing all pink then?" Lilly- " I just wanted too. Sometimes you just have to wear your ...

Trick or Treat

Our little raccoon got to go out with dad, on her own, to forage for candy. As for the rest of us, just imagine us in the above costumes. Lucy wanted to be a unicorn, but fell asleep before she got out trick or treating. I wasn't about to wake her up when she had had a long day and was fighting a cold. Daryl and I went to my brother-in-law's family's Halloween party, I just didn't get pictures. I was a knotty or I mean "naughty" nurse, and Daryl was an overall D.R. (it worked with his name.) A play on words I know but it worked! Glen didn't dress up, not even for school. He just got to watch all the late night fruit cakes that were out on the town still while he was working.
