Goal accomplished

We used the photo booth so much that the guy running it said we couldn't come back any more. Oh well. It was worth it! Glen and I celebrated out 9th anniversary on my sister's wedding day. The years have flown by.

These are some of the pictures we took.
Daryl is about to destroy my flower. Before the ceremony we showed the kids how to drop pedals on the ground. He carried the idea over to the flowers mom and dad had on. That smart little kid.
My Dad with Evelyn and Roberta waiting for their turn at pictures. Next to them sitting is Karen. She is their neighbor, and just about the best neighbor ever.
The girls in their dresses, and part of TaLyn, and Lincoln, a niece and nephew.
The bride being swarmed by nieces and nephews on the move.
Our view of the photographer. My sister had a photo booth, the main photographer and then two other photographers, besides us and other family members who just took random photos. Lots of pictures.
Sister, Ali and her husband guarding the food, cupcakes, fruit tarts, and mini cheese cakes, besides the wedding cake.
 Clara, my niece.
The guest book was vinyl records that you signed that had pictures of the couple on them. This guy signing is Jim. He has been our family hair guy for years.
More behind the scenes of the photographers, and helpers.
The wedding cake. The groom likes gaming and the only gaming system our family ever had growing up was the original Nintendo. Along those lines, when you get a new life in the Mario game you get a mushroom, hence the cake. Their new life. It had a little fall before it arrived, hence the smooshedness.
 My two main guys!
The remainder of Glen's flower or what was suppose to be his flower after Daryl.
Evelyn, Roberta, and Karen enjoying their refreshments. Besides the treats, there was a fresh fruit bar, turkey or ham raps, and  roll sandwiches with ice water, raspberry lemonade or blue Kool-aid.
The Guys. Two nephews are missing and the groomsmen.
All the ladies on both sides and the bridesmaids, getting in to place.
Caught red handed. Before I sent Glen and the kids home, because they were restless and Lilly had school the next day. They got a little tutelage in car decorating.
Glow bracelets and necklaces where the wedding favors. As a bonus the box also had attachments for glow glasses and bunny ears. and the girls are sporting a combination of them.

We made it. The wedding is over, the bride and groom on their honeymoon and we are eating leftovers with Evelyn and Roberta and Grandma Egbert. Lots and lots of leftovers. Anyone who wants to stop by let me know there is plenty to share. Pictures to come!

Now that there are photos, I'm completely happy. The goofing off with Glen photos are only my second favorite. That's because Glen with his little boy sort of stole the show in this post. (Handsome without a beard, too.) Signing records instead of a guest book is a cool idea. You all looked like you were having a great time.

California here we come

July 15-19  Early Monday morning we went to the Provo airport to head to John Wayne airport then down to San Diego to celebrate Larry and Janene's 50th wedding anniversary. We met up with everyone but Josh and his girlfriend, Amberlee in Provo. They left earlier and drove so they could visit her family as well. My dad is a bit John Wayne fan so we had to take a picture with The Duke at his airport for him.  Once we had our luggage, rental van and food in our bellies we had to get sand between our toes and salt water at least on our feet. We ate at a fun little place in San Clemente called Cafe Rae. It was really little. Our group of nine took up about half their seats. It was really good food and they had great hospitality.  Our next stop was the USS Midway in San Diego. Larry had talked about visiting this and the Saint Mary for a long time. It was one of the main reasons we went to San Diego. It was nice to make it happen. I am not really in to military stuff but it was...

My cup with blessings overflows

I am trying to get back in the habit of blogging. Before I go to bed, even though I should be in bed here are blessings from this week. I don’t know it I will remember them all there were so many.  Being home to attend church with our ward.  Talks from two sister in our ward, Louisa Jones who is a brand new young woman and Holly Draney who is the Primary President, on Sister Kristin Yee’s conference talk, that complimented each other well.  They reminded me that God is in the details and even when mistakes are made he can use it to help us learn and bless us. Louisa talked about how she was mad when her parents decided they should move a few years ago but Heavely Father has made it work out. Holly brought up the definitions of the words possibility and joy. She also talked about repairing quilts that had things happen to them. Also a talk from Matt Reeves about the power of the priesthood and how it has blessed his life and has preserved his life.  A great less...

Conversations with Lucy

Lucy-" Mom, Do you know what you can't do?" Mom-"No, what?" Lucy-" You can't put root beer in the microwave. You can't put it in the microwave or else it will explode." Mom- " Is that right?" Lucy- " Yeah, and do you know what else you can't do, you can't put candy in the microwave or else it will explode too. Yeah!"
