My hypocrisy at it's best

It's summer.  I have been avoiding the computer. I think I do that a lot. I have what I call a semi smart phone though which lets me keep up on blogs and a few other things that luckily include making phone calls and on most days texting.  I keep up on blogs more than I should. I don't feel like I follow too many, (though my husband begs to differ.) but mostly family, a few friends and a couple captivating strangers that can write well and are amazing photographers.  The posts have be slow in coming though and not nearly as frequent as I would like to help keep me entertained. I keep thinking come on people share your summer fun with me. And here is where my hypocrisy comes in.  This is my first post since our official summer began. I haven't posted in July till now but really want others too.  So there you have it.
My excuse is that Lilly is out of school for 25 days for summer break. Then on to the next year. So we have been living it up. Our bedtimes have regularly been in the double digit hours of the evening,  and we have been savoring every thing we can but have plenty on our to do list that isn't going to get done be for the school bell rings. Just know we are well and having fun and someday maybe after next week I will post about our whirl wind summer celebration.

Here is a high light of a conversation from today. I made home made bubbles a while ago and got them out again tonight. Daryl got a little too involved with them and ended up needing an eye rinsed out. This didn't make him happy and he was resting/screaming on Glen's lap while the girls and I still played. Glen distracted him with the planes flying over, but was rubbing his eye still. I ask him if I should rinse it out again and got an emphatic no. Glen went with that and ask Daryl a bunch of should we questions. Like should we go inside, watch the airplanes, give you a million dollars, give dad a million dollars? All of which he said," Un uah" to. Glen's last question though was, "Should we give you a truck?" This time he paused, and said "Um, brrrum, brrrum."

I feel ya! However, I've been bad at both writing and reading blogs. How are your healthy goals going? I've been awful. I've maintained my weight loss, but I have been so bad about working out. I eat pretty well, not perfect, but decent, but I feel like every day I am so busy I can't squeeze in a workout. Next week things slow down for me so I plan on getting back into the groove of working out more. You gotta keep me on track!

I love knowing you and Glen spend time asking Daryl questions. I'm missing way too much of the in-person spectator moments.

Happy BUSY Summer days. Isn't this just the funnest time of your life? Kids to play with. Family activities and trips. Questions to ask and answer. Love, giggles, and sunburns.

I loved the image of Daryl resting/screaming on Glen's lap. Great conversation.

California here we come

July 15-19  Early Monday morning we went to the Provo airport to head to John Wayne airport then down to San Diego to celebrate Larry and Janene's 50th wedding anniversary. We met up with everyone but Josh and his girlfriend, Amberlee in Provo. They left earlier and drove so they could visit her family as well. My dad is a bit John Wayne fan so we had to take a picture with The Duke at his airport for him.  Once we had our luggage, rental van and food in our bellies we had to get sand between our toes and salt water at least on our feet. We ate at a fun little place in San Clemente called Cafe Rae. It was really little. Our group of nine took up about half their seats. It was really good food and they had great hospitality.  Our next stop was the USS Midway in San Diego. Larry had talked about visiting this and the Saint Mary for a long time. It was one of the main reasons we went to San Diego. It was nice to make it happen. I am not really in to military stuff but it was...

My cup with blessings overflows

I am trying to get back in the habit of blogging. Before I go to bed, even though I should be in bed here are blessings from this week. I don’t know it I will remember them all there were so many.  Being home to attend church with our ward.  Talks from two sister in our ward, Louisa Jones who is a brand new young woman and Holly Draney who is the Primary President, on Sister Kristin Yee’s conference talk, that complimented each other well.  They reminded me that God is in the details and even when mistakes are made he can use it to help us learn and bless us. Louisa talked about how she was mad when her parents decided they should move a few years ago but Heavely Father has made it work out. Holly brought up the definitions of the words possibility and joy. She also talked about repairing quilts that had things happen to them. Also a talk from Matt Reeves about the power of the priesthood and how it has blessed his life and has preserved his life.  A great less...

Conversations with Lucy

Lucy-" Mom, Do you know what you can't do?" Mom-"No, what?" Lucy-" You can't put root beer in the microwave. You can't put it in the microwave or else it will explode." Mom- " Is that right?" Lucy- " Yeah, and do you know what else you can't do, you can't put candy in the microwave or else it will explode too. Yeah!"
