This week I am tried to write as the week went to give highlights of the days. It’s too much information still. I need to work on being brief.- edited for length
Monday- I went to an accreditation interview panel for Lucy’s school. visited with a friend and best part visiting with Janae. She came to the library to grade papers while her student teacher taught with out her. I interrupted her grading but it was good to catch up a little bit. It’s been so great to have Lucy at the same school as her. We are sad we’ll lose that next year when Lucy goes to the new middle school.
Daryl and I met Grandma Richins at the high school and watched Puffs. Lilly worked in the catwalks and behind scenes in it. It was fun.
Tuesday- Beth had picture day at her preschool. Everything else was pretty low key. The best thing is that Lilly is down to one play for now! The evening was low key and we got to bed at a decent time! Hurray!
Wednesday- It was a full day. Glen-training for the new audio system in his school. It was a good reminder of what a good place he works.
Talking with hospice social worker about ideas to get Evelyn some more company in the evenings. After school events- voice lessons for Lilly, School Community Council meeting at RHS for me, volleyball practice for Lucy and the “We love our youth” service auction for the ward. Lucy made her s’mores cookies and they were a huge success. We also had an 80 year old man shoot three point shots for 6 minutes for pledges for every shot he made. He made 20. It was a fun night.

Thursday-I was planning on going to the temple while Beth was at preschool.No temple because of sleeping Beth. Lots of laundry put away.
Dylan day celebrated by having Arctic Circle for lunch and getting cupcakes. It’s hard to believe he would be/is 16. Dylan is our nephew/cousin that was born with a heart defect and died after 10 days.
Friday- full of running around. Lilly slept in so I dropped her off on the way to work. I wrote her an amazing note that she didn’t fully appreciate. It said- Please excuse Lillian from being late. We had some confusion at our house. I said,” it’s almost leap day.” She heard, “ It’s sleep day!” We got things worked out and she is leaping with joy to be at school today. Thank you, Kayci Richins.
Other events included Ruth having a play date with her cousin Anna, Glen measuring Larry and Janene’s shower that needs to be redone, and me helping move in set stuff for Once on This Island Jr., Lilly’s play.
Saturday- Lilly had a full day. She went from rehearsals to master class for voice lessons to getting ready to go out with friends to going out to Evermore with friends. She keeps things interesting.
Everyone else had a low key day. Ruth’s highlight was going to a friends birthday party.
We had a Bodell family party at our church to celebrate Grandpa Bodell’s birthday. Even though he’s not with us we try to do something together to celebrate his leap year birthday. Not many could make it this year but it was fun. We had barbecue beef sandwiches on homemade rolls with chips and green and pasta salads and root beer and cream soda to drink and cake and ice cream. Then we played volleyball in the gym with whoever would play. In attendance was our family minus Lilly, my parents, Aunt Maridean, Uncle Grant, Katelyn, Jaylee, Aunt Stephaine, Cannon and Ali and Derek. No pictures but a good time!
Sunday- I stayed with Evelyn Saturday night to Sunday and missed church again. She doesn’t want to chew food for the most part so most of her calories are liquid. She doesn’t feel good, like today she had a headache most of the day but doesn’t want to take anything for it. She’s sleepy but probably due to her oxygen being low and her heart beating to it’s own tune. She did wear her oxygen for awhile today which helped her get feeling good enough to not want to wear it. Once she takes it off her blood oxygen levels fall and she doesn’t feel well again. It’s hard to watch. The goal at this point is to keep her as comfortable as she will let us and enjoy what time we have with her. I finished sewing a quilt top together for my friend while with her today. She doesn’t want to talk a lot usually, just be reassured of things like how old she is and that Roberta did leave us and what day of the week it is and what month and just someone there so she’s not alone.
Also it snowed taking us back to winter even though we thought spring was almost here.
