May 11-17

Here is a breakdown of the week in reverse order or something close to that because that’s how my pictures loaded.

Sunday- Glen and I went on a long walk in the morning with the dogs. We startled the family of geese on the remnants of an old bridge. Just after I took the picture the goslings all jumped in to the canal. Glen and I were both caught a little off guard by it. It seemed like such a high height for them.

We cleaned the house and finally found the top of the air hockey table. The kids actually play it now! 

Larry and Janene came over for dinner as well as M’Li, Paige and Azya. (Refer to Paige’s blog for a picture.) It was so fun to have guests and to visit with them. 

Before going to bed the big girls started to talk to Glen about a different bed arrangement so they could have more space in their room. We ended up switching the big girl’s beds with the little girls. It has been a good thing so far.

Saturday- Daryl, Ruth and Beth got to swim at our neighbors in their pool. They are good friends with their youngest, Andrew and they had been wanting to do this for awhile. We have had to have a lot of conversations about how kids can’t just arrange playing when a pool is involved with out parental We also got together with Jill and the kids at the Riverton park. We celebrated Utah moving to yellow phase of Corona virus. It’s so nice to have parks and playgrounds open again. 

Friday nights are usually the night I stay with Evelyn, so I am with her Saturday mornings. Saturday is also one of her bath days. Baths are not her favorite thing because they “get you wet.” She usually feels better and likes the after effects of the bath just stalls and puts off the actual process. This Saturday morning she was willing to have a bath if we could hurry and get it over with and surprise my mom. It worked and we got to sit on the porch and visit with my mom and dad for a little bit too. 

Once I got home took some of our extra gravel over to Glen’s coworker, Carolyn’s  house for her to put around her garden boxes.

Friday we helped Larry and Janene move all their pictures, statues and other decorations off the walls to get ready for painters to come the next day. They have a lot of stuff. Lucy found some of the best things on this closet and tested them out!

Lucy gets to go to a new middle school in the fall and decided to run for SBO. She did it mostly last minute but thought it would be something fun to try. This is the poster that Glen and her came up with for her campaign. All those years of Glen messing around with photoshop and paint pro paid off!  The school is named Hidden Valley. We still think it is a shame that the mascot is not a Rancher. It seems like the obvious choice but the majority chose Hawks.

My mom got this picture of Ellie, Evelyn and Beth. It’s one of my favorites. The two young ones can be a bit wild, crazy and rough for Evelyn sometimes but they love her so much. Evelyn is helping them master the art of teasing. 

Monday- Glen took the day off work and helped my dad pour concrete. It’s so nice to have that much of it done. We are working on digging the curbing out and getting it formed so we can do one more pour.
