Spring break

Our friends, the Hobbs came to see the goats on Saturday. It was so fun. I use to tend their oldest two kids before we had Beth and they had their younger kids. It’s so crazy how their kids grew up just like ours. They got right back to making playing in the dirt and other things they all use to do. 

Ruth made this hippo or something at the sand pile at Grandma and Grandpa Egbert’s. It HaD to be documented.:)

Ruth went to the top of the tree at Evelyn’s. The kids love to climb this tree. A funny aside is, my cousin Katelyn came to visit while she was in the tree. It scared Katelyn to have her that high in the tree. Katelyn yelled at her to get down because she was afraid she was going to fall and she couldn’t go home with her that high in the tree. 

Creature nursing. His mom, Winkie doesn’t like him much so we have to force her to let him nurse. 

Lucy made chocolate chip pancakes one morning. They had fun making the batter in to different shapes. 

Being to a volleyball game in person was so fun! It was cool BYU’s women’s team won the WCC title that game too! 

The shop Lilly and Lucy worked at all week with Uncle Wayne.

The baby goats have been good for Ruth. When she needs to calm down she’ll go pet them and play or sit with them. It seems to help her get out of the red zone better than anything else we have tried. 

 Spring break came at just the right time. The end of third quarter was long. Everyone was ready for some down time and no school. We didn’t plan on going anywhere because we knew we had baby goats coming sometime.  Luckily the babies came at just the right time. They are so fun! And cute. I could over load you with pictures and videos of them but I will restrain myself. 

Back to spring break.  I’ll just try to do the highlights-

Glen took the whole week off. He needed the break. It’s been an extra challenging year. 

Lilly and Lucy worked for Marian’s husband, Wayne, helping him move wood out of the old shop his work had and in to storage units or the dump. 

Lucy, Daryl, Ruth, Glen and I went to BYU to see the women’s volleyball team play in person. It was great! Grandma and Grandpa Richins also came! 

Lilly and her friend, Avery worked a lot on the story/play they are creating. Maybe some day they will share it with the world.

I helped Glen cut down the globe willow tree in our yard. It was dying a sad painful death. It took quite awhile because we didn’t have a big enough chainsaw.  Later in the week a neighbor walking by saw Glen working had sympathy on him. He brought over his chain saw for Glen to use. It made a world of difference. 

Glen also finished cutting down the apricot tree.

Ruth, Beth and Daryl played with the neighbor kids a lot. 

We colored eggs for the Egbert Easter egg hunt. 

We watched or listened to conference. It came at just the right time. 

We had waffle brunch with Grandma and Grandpa Richins. 

We had Easter dinner with the Egbert side of the family and a fun egg hunt, that I got no picture evidence of. 

It was a good break. Now the final push to the end of the school year.
