I am going to keep trying this blog thing. Even unfinished posts will probably make it up just to get something up! (It was Heather's brilliant idea!)
So where do I start?
This summer has been good but hard. As you might have guessed from my lack of posts five kids and everything else is pretty much kicking my tail end.
I thought it might be easier to have all the kids home but not so much. It's just more bodies to move and motivate. Ugh.
Let's talk about Glen. He got appointed as a vice principal at Riverton High school. It will be really good but is a big change.
We were all excited for him to teach Lilly in the fall. This past year has been his best year ever teaching. He had basically been handed a summer teaching job at the alternative high school for a session, which he was excited about.(A way to do what he loves more of the year.) He was even considering having his name taken from the pool for admin. Then pretty much out of the blue, after not having an interview for a year he got the phone call telling him he had been appointed this new job. That was May 10th.
Glen has now finished up teaching and is earning the world of being a high school administrator. He's excited about the new opportunity and says he is learning a ton each day, it's like being in class for something new each day. He likes the team he's working with and is excited to still be at a close school and is hoping he will be there at least till Lilly is there.
I this is the best and most recent picture of him I can find on my phone right now. This was from the Fourth of July weekend after going mountain biking with my brother Jed. It was only my second time and Glen's first. We both liked it. The trail was apprently just right because we thought it had equal parts of being "this is so awesome," and "this is so dumb, I'm going to die." At least that is what my brother says.
Up next is Beth. She is 9 month old. Probably the fastest of my life. She is so fun. She just wants to be big and has pretty much her whole life. She crawls on her hands and feet and pulls up to everything. She is standing for several seconds at a time all by herself. She is good with food and loves feeding herself stuff while I am helping her out. She did have a bit of a reaction to bananas so we try to avaoid those. We are nursing still and hopefully will until a round 12 months. We'll see how it goes though because her bottom two teeth have finally just cut through. Her little personality is showing through more and more every day. It's so fun to see. She puts up with a lot from Daryl and Ruth and usually takes it very well. Oh and she loves to climb, like in to the chair as pictures or up the stairs or up me. It's lovely.
Let's mention Lilly. She is currently off at YW camp. She was so excited for this. She is growing up so fast. She is fun and silly and thoughtful and smart and full of all sorts of random trivia from all the reading she does. She also loves to write and draw and cook, though the last one we are working on. she's excited to be in middle school but not quite as much as when dad was going to be there. She tested for the ALPS program that she was in from first to third grade and got back in for middle school. I think it was good for her to have that break from fourth through sixth. She made some great friends and this last year had a really excellent teacher. She is getting to be a better babysitter all the time and doing better at having Beth for longer times too.

The photo of you and Glen with your brother is just great! I'm so glad you get to do active things together.
