Ruth finally turned 5

After  the  L  O  N  G  E  S T  year ever for Ruth, her birthday finally came and she finally turned 5!

We usually celebrate with Grandma Richins because her birthday is the day before. She was returning from her Arizona birthday trip so that didn't happen this year.

 She got presents... mostly clothes.

 We had Stake conference and we were late and came at different times. Beth slept late and I wasn't willing to wake her up so Glen, Lilly and Lucy went earlier than me and the littles. They had the multipurpose room to themselves so they utilized the chalk they found to entertain themselves while they listened. Once we got there Ruth wanted to be with them but Daryl had found friends in the room we had gone to first so we stayed over there.

 Her favorite color is blue right now and she helped pick this dress out for one of her presents.

 After conference we decided to take the goats for a walk... yes we are that family. They are really out of shape so I guess we need to do it more.

 Ruth requested a chocolate cake with white frosting. I made this one from scratch and it was very yummy! Thank you Mel's Kitchen Cafe blog!

 I think it was a successful birthday. Ruth is funny, smart and sassy. She has a great laugh that comes from her toes and sounds like pure joy. She is reading and likes preschool but really can't wait for kindergarten in the fall. She is very competitive especially with Daryl and says some really silly things. She also thinks that life is not fair because the other big kids have their own animal and she does not.
She loves to play with and stroke hair, likes warm milk, is a pretty picky eater, is tender hearted but has a flaming temper when it comes. She really wants long hair again but I think her short crazy curly hair just fits her great. She would also love to be in a dance class right now if only her mother would get on that. She is very girly but also not afraid to play in the dirt with the boys. She is a fun kid and helps keep things interesting around here.

On a little different note, Glen and I take turns getting the older and younger kids to bed. The night of Ruth's birthday Glen had the older girls. Some nights they get talking and looking and youtube videos and goofing off. This night there was all sorts of silliness going on. I don't remember what Lucy was doing but Lilly decided to play Glen and "dress up as him." It got so Glen gave up getting them to bed and went to bed himself but the girls took some convincing to settle down, leave Dad a lone and go to bed themselves.
