This week has been a lot of the same- Glen working, the kids and I in Herriman with Evelyn, swimming, tidying the house, laundry, helping Grandma and Grandpa Richins on Tuesday night, Glen and I walking to his work in the morning. Lots of our normal summer stuff that will be coming to an end after this coming week. We have had a good thing going.
A few of the high lights of the week that were not so normal-
- Ruth spending most of Monday, plus the night and Tuesday with Grandma and Grandpa Richins. Sometimes she just needs some time away from her siblings and to pretend she is an only child.

- Lilly attending a dance workshop for her MDT class with Thayne Jasperson He happens to be in Hamilton on Broadway and is the only original cast member still doing the show.( He is from Utah and quarantining with his family.) He is Samuel Seabury in the Disney+ recording. She kind of geeked out a bit but tried to be cool.
- Visiting with Grandma Richins about the picture Paige posted on her blog. She told me a bunch of stories I had never heard before like she use to call Lavarre, Mutton Liver Bacon. His name is Milton Lavarre Bushman. Also a story from when she was at BYU with the brother of the cousin in the picture. They were walking back from a football game which BYU had lost. There was toilet paper strewn about and she started picking it up and wondered if he wanted some too. She didn’t remember what she did with the toilet paper after. I got a laugh out of both memories.

- Cute Beth wanted to talk to Glen after swimming one day but he was in meetings all day. We settled for sending a picture and a text that said, “ I love you, Daddy!”
- Daryl and Ruth starting Presto music/piano classes with a teacher that teaches Let's Play Music curriculum. Beth gets to start her Red Balloon class next week. I am pretty excited about it and they seem to have liked the first class!
- My mom and Evelyn have such a funny relationship. They push each other’s buttons so well. My mom was trying to talk Evelyn in to a bath in the above picture. Evelyn told her she had to sit awhile because she couldn’t feel her legs from the knees down. (This leg thing is happening more and more often lately) My mom picked up one leg and then the other and rubbed them to try and help her get feeling back. It worked but she wasn’t ready for a bath. My mom grew impatient and left and as soon as she left Evelyn said to me with a little laugh and twinkle in her eye, “Ha, now I don’t have to have a bath.”
She thought she had gotten out of it that day.
- Early in the week Josh texted Glen about getting together to have lunch. As they worked out the details he wanted to whole family and he was bringing others with him. It turned out we met Janae and all three boys at Wallaby's on Saturday for lunch. It was great! I got this low quality picture as proof.
- Lilly did her health class online this summer. One of her assignments was to make an anti smoking poster. She traced pictures of Shrek for it. (top) Her siblings have since copied her poster and done their own interpretations and we now have these posters taped around the house in random places.
- A cousin sleepover with Joe's kids last night. It was going to be all the cousins but Ellie. Jed's kids came back from a trip to Jill's Aunt's cabin not feeling well so they postponed. It made things a lot more chill with only 3 cousins and not 10. In the picture almost every one has decided to play the Bertie Bots jelly bean game Ruth got with Grandma Richins. It was pretty funny seeing their faces after they tried a bean.
We ended the night tidying the house and then out on the driveway playing jump rope games. They were a huge hit. Beth ask, " Can we do this the next night too?" Hopefully!
